Hey ya,
Well finally we are having our first showing! Sorry about the delay but
we still are arranging stuff :) So we are aiming for this coming Monday 6:30pm
though are STILL awaiting confirmation about the venue :/ T101 is booked out!
So we are trying for teh nursing building NG20-23 and failing that most likly
CG12 in the Henry Grattan building.
This is our first night so its going to be an Open Night, next week we will
be asking membership money at the door :) The night will see several anime
eps being played :-

The site has had a COMPLETE redo and lots of cheers to CuLT, our first year
liason officer for doing it :) Our forums will be getting a make over soon
also but do sign up and check them out cause most of the news of the films
and manga will go on them! Tell us what you want :

We have lots of stuff coming up over the year - the full year - including
our regualar weekly anime showings, our manga library which will be avaible
soon, tutorials in creating top class AMVs, Anime Music Videos, with
competitions going year round plus our main event - EirtaKon 2004! DCU's
first Anime Con. There is ALOT planned for this and if you want to help out
post on the forums your ideas etc :)

Ok might as well get our main event at least discussed. When should we be holding
this? For the first year I dont think we will be looking into a large fund for
it - hence why we need to good the first time to get more next year ^_^
Also a quick into - our First Year Liason Officer has been filled by Ross Duggan,
cult@rb.
Anyway one name being used currently, suggested by Ross, is EirtaKon. This would
also aid us in becoming affliated with www.eirtaku.com - main site for anime
and manga in Ireland.
Personally I like the name EirtaKon - its very Irish and is certainly linked
with anime :) i.e. like Gaelcon etc. So it gets my vote - thoughts?
The next main bit is actually the date of the con. When is it good for every one?
Im thinking possibly in the summer actually - that way most people will be able
to make it. July?
Also what rooms will be need to book? Cause its really going to be anime showings
and such what should we be looking at? Booking T101 for the whole weekend.. umm
Possibly the Venue and Seminar room? Could also link up with games soc to provide a
small lan in teh Venue. Approach vendors about setting up in there or such..
Also once we have most of the stuff set up contact the TCD and UCD anime socs - this
way its seen as a DCU thing but we will have several socs working in it :)
Thoughts on what to do at it? Wil we have cosplay comp? Manga?
