Hey,
Well I'm very happy to let you know that our con, EirtaKon, is really
starting to pull together! To give you an idea of what we are doing :-
We are going to be booking the Business School, T101 and the Hub for
the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the 2nd week in July. The Business School
is going to be the center of our anime showings. T101 will be where competitions,
special previews and certain movies will be played. And the Hub will see the new
bar in use along with the Venue. The Venue will be set up with several games
going on - Games Soc running console events and STOCS running RPGs, boardgames
and CCGs. Also in the Venue will be some suppliers - The Third Dimension and
SubCity and several anime groups from around Ireland, Anime.ie, TCD's DUCCS etc.
The Anime showings will be running from 9 till 9 in several lecture
rooms. We will be having entire series being shown ( Naruto ), movies and
many surprises :) We will also be having Anime Music Video competitions and
Fan Dubbed etc - so many possibilities! We will be showing you how to make these
during the year.
If you want to sign up as Staff for the event sign up to the Eirtakon-help
list http://lists.redbrick.dcu.ie/mailman/listinfo/eirtakon-help cause we need you!
:) You would be working about one of the days. Your shifts would be diveded up into
helping around and 'staffing' which anime shows you want - we need someone in each
room to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible ;)
Hope to hear from you!
Cheers,
John
