[EirtaKon] Stuff from Dark Horse Comics!

Just to keep you up-to-date, We have our first bout of items for the con courtesy of Dark Horse comics *tips hat*. Dark Horse have kindly supplied us with a variety of Trigun and Samurai Executioner paraphernalia, posters, bookmarks, rub on tatoos ( :P ) and something which we got rather excited over; the first volume of the Trigun manga autographed (yes, actually autographed, not just printed) by the author, Yasuhiro Nightow :) We not sure what we're going to do with this, but it will most certainly be either a prize for one of the competitions or will be auctioned at the (possible) charity auction. -Ross (CuLT), First Year Liason Officer. -- Anime & Manga Soc ams(a)redbrick.dcu.ie http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~ams

Gah! Been showed under with projects so sorry to people who went last week ^_^b Today it is in Q119 from 2pm. We will be showing the remainder of Macross Zero which will take up the majority of the time and will finish off with some RahXephon! Also we now have our forums back up, finally!, at http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~ams/forums sign up and tell us what you want! Right sorry about the delay in notifying people... Tomorrow/today (depending on when you read it ;) will be mainly Mecha! Again refreshments will be provided afterwards - hope to see you all there! The Scheldue :- Q119 2pm : _Macros Zero _ Taking place one year before the Zentraedi arrive on Earth, Macross Zero chronicles the final days of the war between the U.N. Spacy and anti-U.N. factions. After being shot down by the anti-U.N.'s newest fighter plane, ace pilot Shin Kudo finds himself on the remote island of Mayan, where technology is almost non-existent. While Shin stays on the island to heal his wounds, the tranqulity of the island is shattered by a battle that involves the UN's newest fighter - the VF-0. 3pm : _Gundum Seed Destiny_ Cosmic Era 73. Though the signing of a peace treaty brought the war between the Naturals and Coordinators to an apparent close, tensions continue to run high. With the Blue Cosmos organization poised to come back bigger than ever, and the Earth Alliance and ZAFT caught up in the midsts of an arms race, it was only inevitable that war would break out once again. During a conference between ZAFT and the Orb Union at ZAFT's Armory One facility, an Alliance special forces team launches a break-in operation and makes off with three new Gundam mobile suits. Forced to pursue them, Shinn Asuka of ZAFT and Athrun Zala of Orb take the remaining two Gundams and head out in the new assault battleship Minerva. With Shinn bearing a grudge against Orb for the loss of his family in the previous war, and Athrun questioning his own role in the coming conflict, the two leap headlong into a new chapter of the already blood-stained clash of ideals that was supposed to have ended two years ago. 4pm : _Raxpheon_ In a world where time passes at a crawl and the blood of your neighbor runs blue, 17 year old high school student Ayato Kamina goes about his daily life within Tokyo Jupiter oblivious to the world around him, having been educated with the fact that the all civilization but Tokyo has been destroyed. But all that changes when the mysterious civilization "MU" invades his home, raining destruction down from the sky in the form of strange monsters called Dolems. The events that occur next will lead Ayato to the mysterious woman named Reika Mishima, to the truth of their existence, the discovery of what and who he is, and to the powerful angelic robot RahXephon. 5pm : _Fafner in the Azure_ Tatsumiyajima is the central island in the middle of a small cluster of islands, in a sleepy backwater of the Japanese isles. Not much happens there, and the island's young people go to school knowing that their lives are likely to remain peaceful and undisturbed. Or so they have been taught... but the truth is different. The fate of mankind is on the line, and Tatsumiyajima is the last line of defense against a hostile and incomprehensible enemy. At the center of it all, fighting for Humanity's continued existence, is the giant robot Fafner, the dragon that guards this final treasure of mankind. See you there!
