Right hope all the exams went ok for you all!
First thing to say is that we will be continuing to show anime
thorughout the summer! Every thursday in the Seminar Room from
7pm till 10pm. This Thursday coming will feature
7pm - Ghost in the Shell
8:30pm - Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex eps 1-3
Check out the page on showings to get an idea of what the anime
are about!
Second point - the AMS is now a seperate society from Japanese
soc. This means though that anyone who has signed up/paid money
they are a member of Japanese soc so sadly we have no money currently...
This did NOT stop us charging 900 euro of anime and manga to the SPC!
:D We hope to be getting this shipment soon.
We hope though to provide free refreshments to those who attend the
showings but to do this we need actual cash. So we will be opening
membership now for next year - i.e. you pay your 4 euro now and thats
good till September 2006!
Final point is that EirtaKon is doing great :D we have loads of sponsors
giving us loads of stuff to give away, we have an american documentary
crew interteresed in coming along, and we still got staff positions needing
filling :D If you are interested in helping us make this the BEST, not just
the first, anime con in Ireland sign up to the EirtaKon help list and
take one of these positions or just be a staff member!
Registrations - 1
This will contacting people about payment, keeping the
list of members up to date and also mailing out the con
packs. If people wish to cancel you will be the person
they talk to. Once the con starts you will be General
Staff.
Publicity - 2
A very serious job as advertisment will be the main part of
the con for the next few months. Two people are needed to post
about it wherever possible, contact stores and see about putting
up posters, contacting libraries, video stores etc Getting the
name out and about! During the con will be General Staff.
Event Programme - 2
Anything non anime related more or less! Setting up the times for the
fan dubbing, talking with DCU Games Soc, DCU STOCS, anyone organising
little events on their stalls. The raffle, pub quiz etc. Alot of people
will have input here but these people run it. For instance everyone
can say what should be asked in the pub quiz but these guys stand up
and do it :)
Conbook Editor - 1
Get articales, nice pictures, put the adverts in nicly etc :) Good
english required - so Im out ;) Will be general staff for the con.
