Just letting you know an exciting events this week that AMS has to offer!
Firstly Tuesday the 2nd of December is going to be a busy day as there will
be Manga classes, taught by Leanne Hamilton who was a former winner for the
Rising Stars of Tokyo Pop in CG11 Henry Gratten building at 5pm, so don't

For the ones who want a bit of karaoke and a nightout, DCU Japanese Society
will be heading to Ukiyo Bar for 5pm for snacks and conversation then from
7-9pm karaoke. Tickets are 10E and that would get you a free shot of sake
and a free beer/soft drink so it is a good deal! Also the Anime society in
Dublin Business School will be coming along too, so you will get to meet
other Anime fans.
Also to remind you all that AMS will be having a Christmas nightout on the
12th of December. We will be meeting at 6:30pm at the Spire, then go to see
The Nightmare Before Christmas (It's animated and a Christmas movie kinda
appropiate ;-P) at 7:30pm then head to Ukiyo bar for food and karaoke. Unfortunely
we won't be getting discounts, so meals will cost 15E to 20E hopefully this
is ok with everyone. Also if you want to come along there is a deposit of
E2.50 which you can pay the coming Thursday.

Hey folks,
First of all, some of you will have noticed that the ams forum is down. This
is due to redbrick changing servers. We will have it back up and running
soon as possible. Showings will be as norm every Thursday in the hub from
6-10.
Other news is that both our semester one events, amv and manga drawing classes,
will be going ahead during art week - inconjunction with Art soc.
AMV classes for beginners
Held by: Ceili Braidwood (experienced in making over 100 high quality amvs)
Location: Henry Grattan CG19
Date and Time: December 3rd @ 6pm
Manga drawing classes for beginners
Held by: Leeann Hamilton (former artist with Tokyopop)
Location: Henry Grattan CG11
Date and time: December 2nd @ 5pm
Final bit of news i have for you is, if your interested, the Japanese society
have offered some of their ukiyo bar tickets to us. Tickets cost €10 and
you get free Karaoke, some sake and finger food. This will be taking place
December 2nd, 7-10. This of course collides with the Manga classes but the
option is still there. To avail of this you must email Ceili at miserywriter(a)gmail.com
with "ukiyo bar tickets" in the title.
Thats pretty much it for now. I highly recommend going to both the amv and
manga classes!

Hey Folks,
Hopefully you are all recovered from the amazing weekend! Eirtakon was great
fun and full of laughs!
Now moving on, we originally had plans for an AMS nightout on the 27th which
is next Thursday but due to short notice, we plan to prospone the event to
the 12th of December which is a Friday. Now that the voting is closed it
turns out we will be heading to Ukiyo karaoke bar after Yamamori. There are
also plans to go bowling beforehand giving we have the whole day. ;-p We
could go bowling in the leisure plex in Coolock giving it is the closest
to Dublin. We could meet at 11 at the Spire then get the 27 bus out to the
Leisure Plex, go bowling for 2 hours then get the 27 back into town, head
to Yamamori along the Queys. We will try and get there to catch the early
bird so it will be only 10E for a meal. :-) Finish the night with fun karaoke!
I will email or announce full prices soon and I will be coming to the next
AMS showings so if anyone has any objections or problems you can let me know.

Hey folks,
As some of you already know AMS is going to be having amv (anime music video)
classes in probably the next week. We have decided on the editing software
by vote and windows media player won. Not everybody is using the forum and
i need to know how many people are interested, if you own your own laptop
(with windows os) and if you own the anime your going to edit on the night.
