Hey all,
Hope everyone is dressed up and ready for spookfest this week, if you're
not going to the halloween ball, or trick or treating with your mates on
Sunday, no worries, you have yet another chance this Thursday to dress
as bizarre as you like, whether you feel like cosplaying or being a
ghost for a day, I dunno what you're into but this week's showing is
halloween costume essential so start preparing now or just reuse your
costume from tuesday, whichever suits you. If you don't bother though,
we'll probably still let you in anyway....you may not get any treats
though!:P Seriously, best dressed gets a prize so put some effort in,
otherwise the committee will just keep all the sweets for ourselves!
For the showings we'll be taking a break with usual ams halloween
tradition by not showing any Hellsing or Cowboy Bebop movie, (sorry
folks, it's time for something different!) instead we'll be watching the
'slightly racy', "Ghost Talker Daydream", about a dominatrix who can see
ghosts, tits are displayed right from the beginning of this show so if
you're of a delicate nature be warned! Along with that we'll be seeing
"Le Portraitte de Petite Cossette" about a young artist who comes an old
wine glass that has been possessed by a creepy young lady. Last but not
least we'll be watching the wonderful Vampire Hunter D, an anime about
real vampires who don't sparkle very much....:P
If you do turn up we should be in CG12 this week, failing which there
will be signs posted about the place leading you to our real location!
In other news, remember, if you're interested in getting involved in
Eirtakon, whether as a committee member or as the Con Director please
mail us at
ams(a)redbrick.dcu.ie
or post on the Forum at
www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~ams
all students who are members are eligible.
just post any qualifications you have and maybe previous experiences to
help us decide.
That's all for this week (hopefully) see you thursday!
Your Film Officer,
Ceili.

Don't forget it's the egm so if anyones interested in the first year
rep position come along and get involved.
See you all there,

Last but not least, for those who weren't around to hear, we're having
our EGM this Thursday from 6 till 7 so if you want a chance to be our
new First year rep, we'll be in CG01 waiting! Being the first year rep
is a great way of getting involved in not only your favourite society,
but society life in general, and it's highly recommended as a crash
course on how committees in DCU work, it's also a load of fun and a
great way to get clued in on everything that AMS is getting up to!
Hope to see all you freshers there,
Your Film Officer,
Ceili.
Hey guys,
It's week 2 already, so as well as the weekly showing we've got Club and Socs day on Wednesday and Tuesday. and we have a special deal this year on Pre-reg Eirtakon tickets for anyone signing up on either day so if you don't have a ticket already the AMS table is the place to get them! You can find us down in the venue in a corner somewhere, easily recognizable by the large amount of anime merchandise and possibly free sweets so I hope to see you all down there!
In more regular news Showings this week will include Sengoku Basara, which didn't get shown last week, some Cowboy Bebop (feel free to go to the forums to suggest which episode you want to watch! http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~ams/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=528 ) Along with those two will be a mystery anime which will be chosen after people have made a few more suggestions for good starter animes (hint hint) remember, it's fresher week so no scaring the newbies (without permission!)
http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~ams/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=528
Poll will go up tomorrow or wednesday so get suggesting,
See you thursday in CG01 as usual!

Ceili.
