Due to an event in the city centre which the majority of the societies
committee will be attending, Official showings will start next week i.e. the
anime and manga libraries will be available, there will be refreshments and
so on and so forth. There will still be showings this week so if anyone
wants to come along feel free.
I hope to see you all there next week though,
Keith O'Sullivan
Society Chair
Hi Keith,
I'd be interested in that lecture.
Please keep me updated.
Thanks,
Claire
Hey all,
Hope you had a good summer.
As a preliminary for Eirtakon and as the first event in the Anime and
Manga
Society Calender, We are teaming up with the Japanese embassy for a
lecture
from one of the foremost academic experts on Anime and Manga. (his name
is
to follow, mostly because I haven't seen it in anything more than
squiggles
and pronounced rather rapidly by the second secretary of culture.)
The lecture will take place on the 2nd of october from 7-9 in DCU and
the
subject will be the based around the development of anime and manga as a
aspect of pop culture.
I will send more details around as they are available but for now I
would
like anyone interested to mail me back and let me know if they would be
able
to make it.
Thanks
Keith

Ok,
We're going to have a random, unofficial showing this week.
It will take place in C166 tomorrow night at 7 and will finish up at about
10.
The library will not be open as it is too close to the summer, and I ask all
those who have manga/anime out on loan at the moment to bring them back
either tomorrow, or arrange to meet me (I can be reached at
dahtac(a)eirtaku.com) so I can check them off on the inventory.
Thanks,
Keith
Ok, The final "official" showing of the year is this Wednesday. If I find
time over my exam study period I'll probably call another showing or two.
I'll give you notice about that anyway.
There is also the possibility of having showings over the summer, I'll be
looking into that over the summer and I'll let you all know what the story
is.
Next year we're going to be back and bigger than ever :D I'll have the new
website up and live in mid-end July and come September we'll be organising
many more events next year.
Thanks for all your support and shit over the year :D and I hope to see you
all back in September/November,
Dahtac
Hey everyone,
Just a quick reminder to you all about this evenings Annual General Meeting.
It takes place tonight at 7 in the Seminar room, just before showings start.
I'd like to ask that as many people as possible turn up for it.
If we don't get a sizeable chunk of the mumbership in attendance we won't be
able to elect a new committee, and will have to hold another meeting next
week.
See you all then,
Sean
Chair
Yeah no poll again this week, but due to a very low attendance last week,
Death Note - The last word and Gunsmith cats will be shown this week
instead. And remember the AGM takes place beforehand, so if anyone's
interested in a position come along :D
See you all then,
Dahtac
