Okay, here are the poll options for this week :D
Turn A Gundam:
The year is Correct Century 2345. The civilization of Earth is at about the
level it was during World War I. Long ago, humanity traveled through space,
but the people of Earth have long forgotten about that. However, an advanced
civilization still exists in cities on the moon, and now this Moonrace, in
desperate need of resources, sets its sights back on its home planet. Three
Moonrace teenagers, Loran Cehack, Keith Laijie, and Fran Doll, are sent to
make sure that a return is even feasible, and are followed two years later
by the invading Dianna Counter forces. Now, five thousand years after
humanity first traveled into space, a new war is brewing between the
Earthlings defending their homes, the Moonrace looking to settle on Earth,
and other members of the Moonrace who believe a return to Earth may revive a
nightmare from humanity's forgotten past...
GTO:
Onizuka is an ex-biker and gang leader who has one goal, to become the
greatest teacher. He learns of the power and respect possible as an intern
teacher, using his strength and connections to get his students to respect
him. Now, graduated, he gets a job at a prestigious private school to handle
their 'problem class' that made the past few teachers quit. He must handle a
different sort of trouble when the trouble makers include some of the
smartest kids in Japan who prefer a more cerebral approach to torturing
their teacher. Onizuka must slowly win his students over and deal with their
mistrust of teachers while handling the distrust of his fellow teachers.
Eureka 7:
Renton Thurston is a 14-year-old boy who lived with his mechanic grandfather
in a backwater town. Every day he dreamed of being with the mercenary "Light
Finding Operation (LFO)" aircraft pilot group "Gekkostate" and riding
"Trapar" particle waves-- a sport called "reffing"-- with their charismatic
leader Holland, especially when faced with his father's acclaimed past or
his grandfather's desire to protect him. When a young girl named Eureka
riding the original LFO, the "Nirvash typeZERO", asks his grandfather for a
tune-up, she inadvertently brings the attention of the military to the
garage; as a result, the garage is destroyed and Renton is forced to deliver
a new type of interface-- the "Amita Drive"-- to the Nirvash. After a heated
fight in which the Nirvash destroys the military LFOs by unleashing an
immense amount of power, Renton is invited into Gekkostate. However, he
quickly realizes that behind the facade of a traveling group of mercenaries
is a very bitter reality.
Zero No Tsukaima (The Zero's Familiar):
Meet Louise, a budding magician. The students at the Tristein Academy call
her "Zero Louise", due to her current record of zero successes with magic.
In fact, her magic tends to go spectacularly wrong. Now, as an important
test of her aptitude for magic, she must summon a familiar to be her
servant. At this critical moment, she summons up all her magic and wishes
for a familiar that is "devoted, beautiful and powerful", and gets... Hiraga
Saito, an ordinary Japanese boy. It's difficult to say who is more surprised
and dismayed, but the rules don't allow for second attempts. Louise is stuck
with her strange familiar, and he with her.
D. Gray-Man:
llen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the
suffering of the Akumas created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England
to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet
with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah
Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin
to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of
19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into
Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to
them by God on their side.
There were alot of suggestions this week, so I picked one from those who
have suggested more than one anime so they get at least one thing they want
to see along with every other suggestion from this week. I'll carry over the
remainder to next weeks suggestion board where people can second them or
whatever.
Hope you all can make it tomorrow!
Remember also that AMS takes place in C166 this week instead of the Seminar
Room!
Hey everyone, here we are with tonight's showings (as emphasised by the
subject but anyway...)
Welcome To The NHK: Episodes 1-3
Satou Tatsuhiro, 22 years old, thinks that everything that happen around him
is a conspiracy. He figure out who is behind it all: The NHK, an evil secret
company. "When you think anime, you think otaku. When you think otaku, you
think people that dislike other people. Those people become hikikomori
(people who shut themselves in)". So Satou manage to uncover the plot of The
NHK (stands for Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai), after three years of shutting
himself in (and rapidly approaching the fourth). In reality, he is nothing
more then a NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training), desperately in
need of a cure from that 'disease'. He want to break out from the curse, but
going out and getting a job is frightening enough for him. That is until he
gets selected for a 'project'; it is a plan to help hikikomori like him in
facing the reality of this world.
Voices Of A Distant Star
A female mecha pilot tries to keep in touch with her boyfriend on earth
while she is in space using cell phone text messages. The farther away they
get from each other, the harder it is for the text messages to get to each
other.
Innocent Venus: Episodes 1-3
In the year 2010 AD, Hyper Hurricanes born concurrently all over the world
caused severe damage. Five billion people lost their lives, decreasing the
world's population to 3 billion. Existing economies and militaries were
wiped out. Countries were frozen under solid ice, plains sank beneath seas,
the world was changed dramatically. Human civilization enters a chaotic era.
Poverty flourished outside of these ecomomic zones and slums were
widespread. The ruling class called themselves Logos and maintained their
position by force of arms. They call the poor Revenus, who are exiled to
live outside the special economic areas. Time has passed since then.
Katsuragi Jo and Tsurasawa Jin, escape from Phantom, a force organised to
watch Revenus and to suppress renegade elements of the Logos, taking with
them a mysterious girl, Noto Sana. There are many who are interested in her,
all with their own reasons.

I would like to ask that members of the socieity do not use the AMS mailing
list for correspondance. Its purpose is to announce the weekly showings at
AMS.
If you would like to get in contact with the committee, please use the email
addresses listed on your homepage, or you email ams(a)redbrick.dcu.ie
Alternatively you could come to AMS and talk to one of us in person.
I hope to see you all at this evenings showings.

I laugh in the face of 1000 suns!
Hey there,
I was just hoping that if any of you get especially bored at some stage that
you would be able to forward me a list of any anime whihc you possess that
you would be willing to bring in for showings, just to help with the
organisation of the showings. I have gotten lists off some of you already
and you know who you are.
And Sean do you have the Society Anime inventory anywhere...Pleeeease!
Thanks,
Keith
Film Officer
Ok, the suggestion forum has been a bit slow this week. So far, voices of a
distant star, escaflowne and outlaw star have been suggested, by myself and
sean. I'll be putting up the poll tomorrow so if anyone has any ideas,
objections etc...let me know
Please ignore the previous two messages sent from the announce AMS list.
They are an unfortunate side effect of leaving an email account logged in
and unattended in a public area.
Also, as you have heard, there will be pizza and drinks in AMS tonight for
the Hallowe'en showings.
And could anyone who wishes to buy a ticket for the Societies Ball off of
AMS please announce their intentions or pay before Tuesday.
There are currently 13 tickets remaining.
Hope to see you at the shoing tonight,
Sean
