This week in Games Soc:
- Xbox Live Gaming Centre Trip
- Console & Lab Gaming
- Last chance for hoodies
This Friday, the 28th of November, we're running our first trip to the Xbox Live Gaming Centre. Located on South William Street, the Centre is loaded with Xboxs and Xbox 360s, flatscreen tvs, comfortable seating and just about every game available on both systems. We'll be running competitions and there'll be prizes for the winners. It's running from 7-12 and possibly later and the cost is 10 euro. Talk to any of the committee at Console or Lab Gaming this week or send us an email at games(a)redbrick.dcu.ie to book your place. If you don't know where it is, you can even meet up with a few of us in the Hub on Friday at 6.15 and go as a group.
Console Gaming this week will be all around the Hub again, so come in for a while and play a few games after classes. Lab Gaming is back in C204 at 6pm on the Thursday.
We'll be making our order for Games Soc hoodies at the end of the week. Sorry to all those who've booked already for the delay and for anyone else who wants one, this is your last chance. Available for 40 euro or 35 depending on your preference, mail us or post on the forums.
We've nearly reached the end of Semester 1, but we still have our Retro Event next week to look forward to and some big stuff next year, including my personal favourite, the Pro Evolution 6 tournament.
Hope to see you all during the week.

Hey all,
Another update on what's happening with Games Soc:
- InterLAN results
- Keep the Ball Rolling
- Console Gaming & Lab Gaming
InterLAN 06 was a huge success for DCU! The event took place in Ard Scoil Ris on Saturday/Sunday and was run jointly by DIT and DCU. DCU players claimed top spot in Quake, Dawn of War and Counter Strike and two of our teams came runner-up in Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 2. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to those who attended and made it a great LAN. Expect to see some more Intervarsity gaming soon.
Games Soc will be providing some gaming in The Hub today as part of Keep the Ball Rolling along with Film and Music Soc. So, as long you don't have too much of a headache from last night there'll be some more entertainment for you.
Console Gaming is back in the Seminar Room Wednesday from 2-5pm. As some of you may have noticed, we now have an Xbox 360! Presently we have PGR3, Table Tennis, Need for Speed Carbon and of course, Pro Evo 6 and we're looking to get some more games soon. All suggestions welcome.
Lab Gaming has now been moved to C204 due to some network issues in the old lab. Although slightly smaller, we can guarantee there'll be no problems and we also have two new games to play - fps classic Call of Duty and the highly addictive Defcon. Runs from 6-10 on Thursday as usual.
That's all for this week, but in the next few weeks we'll be running our Retro event and a trip to the Xbox Live Centre.

It kicks off at 2pm on Saturday and there'll be tournaments in CS 1.6 and Source, Dawn of War, Battlefield 2, Quake and others.
