Hey guys,
Yeah, firstly I have to apologise for that subject line. Simon (our esteemed Chairperson) insisted I use it...
Anyway...
- Console Gaming, Wednesday from 2pm in the Hub.
- Hoodies ordered!
Our last event of the year will be this Wednesday when once again we'll have Console Gaming set up around the Hub, with, as you may have guessed from that delightfully witty *cough* subject line, one Nintendo Wii, which is being brought along by one of our beloved members. So whether you're just curious or you've already found out how much fun they are, come to the Hub tomorrow for some Wii Sports, Monkey Ball and whatever else we can get our hands on. It goes without saying that anyone with any Wii pads or games can bring them along.
Thanks to all of you that came to the Christmas Party we had with Drama and Redbrick last Thursday, it was a really great night and the place was completely packed.
Hoodies have finally been ordered! We should be getting them delivered soon so if those of you who've ordered want them before Christmas, give your money to one of the committee at Console Gaming tomorrow or pay straight to the account here: http://games.redbrick.dcu.ie/about/join.php and we'll organise a time for you to pick it up.
Finally, the Games Soc committee would like to wish all of our members a Merry Christmas (we're so nice!). Good luck with the exams too!
See you tomorrow, or next year if you can't make it,

In week 11 we have:
- Retro Gaming, The Seminar Room, 2-6 on Wednesday
- Lab Gaming, C204, 6-10 on Wednesday
- Games Soc Christmas Party in The Slipper from 7pm on Thursday
Games Soc is going 16 bit and lower this Wednesday from 2 in the Seminar Room. We'll have plenty of Nes, Snes, Mega Drive games and more from other ancient consoles. Come along and remember what Sonic was like before he got all crappy and 3d! There'll be tournaments in Mario Kart, Street Fighter 2, Micro Machines and even Nintendo World Cup Soccer with prizes and free refreshments! We'd also like to invite you all to bring along any old games or consoles you have at home, the more retro the better (as long as it still works), anyone who brings a console gets free entry into all the tournaments.
Lab Gaming will be on Wednesday this week from 6 to 10 in C204, so join us after Retro Gaming for some CS, Quake, Age of Empires 2 or whatever you're in the mood for.
We'd like to invite all of our members to come to The Slipper on Thursday for our first ever Christmas Party! In association with Drama Soc and Redbrick we'll be in The Slipper from 7pm with mince pies and mulled wine, Santa Claus in the corner giving out presents, 3.50 drinks and of course, plenty of games set up around the place for you guys to play. Entry fee is 3 euro. It promises to be a really great night and we hope to see a lot of you there.

Hey folks, just a last reminder about our first event in the XBox Live
Gaming Centre in town tonight from 7-12pm. Located on South William
Street, the Centre is chock full of XBox 360s, flatscreen TVs, big leather
couches and just about every game available on the system. Admission is
only 10 and we'll be running competitions throughout the night with some
great prizes for the winners!
The good news is there's still a few places left for the night so if you
want to come drop us a mail at games(a)redbrick.dcu.ie or meet up with us in
the Hub this evening at 6:15 before we go in. It should be a great night
so hopefully see you guys there!
