Hey all,
= Smash Bros Tournament! =
This Wednesday will see the return of our Super Smash Bros Melee tournament in the Seminar Room at 2pm. Play as any of your favourite Nintendo characters and battle it out! We had a massive turnout last year and this time it promises to be even bigger. Entry is 2 euro and there'll be prizes for the winners, along with tons of free food for everyone who turns up!
And if you're not all that interested in Smash Bros, we should have the Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation around too :)
If you're into handheld consoles, you should start bringing along your DS or PSP to Console gaming too and we can get a few games of Mario Kart DS, Elite Beat Agents, Metroid or any other games going every week.
= Lab Gaming =
Lab Gaming will be on once again at 6pm in C204 on Thursday, with all the usual games, including Counter Strike, Quake 3, Age of Empires, Day of Defeat and loads more!
= Games Soc Hoodies! =
We've had a lot of people asking us about how to get one of the Games Soc hoodies. They cost 40 euro and we'll be doing a new order soon, so if you'd like to buy one, either just mail your desired size to gamessoc(a)redbrick.dcu.ie or post in the hoody thread on our forums. :)
We'll be announcing details on our Bring Your Own PC LAN quite soon. Remember to check out the forums and if there are games you'd like to see at our events or tournaments you'd like us to run, just let us know through the forums or email :)
Hope to see you all during the week,
Kev

and welcome back all of our old members. This year we've had our most
successful Clubs & Socs Day to date, registering a massive 172 members,
making GamesSoc the largest we've ever been! As such you can expect an
even bigger effort from us on the committee for the upcoming year.

-Freshers ball-
This Thursday will see Redbrick & GamesSoc host our annual Freshers Ball.
There will be a live band playing and a DJ afterwards, with a late bar
running on the night. We will be present, providing some console gaming
for everyone. The event kicks off at 9pm on Thursday at Radio City, so make
sure you have a ticket which were handed out on Clubs & Socs Day!
-Prize Draw-
Our sponsors over at steelseries (http://steelseries.com/) have given us
some lovely new mouse mats to give away, so we've picked two members in a
draw to receive prizes. And the winners are... Alex McLeod and Brian Kane,
Congrats guys! You are now both owners of lovely steelseries gaming mouse
mats.
Hope to see you all Wednesday @ 1pm in the Seminar Room and then for a few
