So its almost here. Christmas is almost here and what better way to get in
the mood than to come along to our Christmas Party. This is going to be
great fun, we've got Games, Raffles and Presents for everyone. To get you
even more in the mood there shall be discounts on drinks too. Also if
you're a big Comic Book fan there is gonna be a prize for the best nerdy
outfit. Its all kicking off at 8PM on Thursday upstairs in The Slipper
across the road from the Ballymun Road entrance (just in case you didn't
know). This year we've got Art Soc, Book Soc, Comic Soc, Redbrick and
ourselves so this is bound to be a great party. So show your support for
GamesSoc by coming along and having some fun. :)
Consoles
Wednesday afternoon 2pm in the Seminar room upstairs in the hub. We have
all our regular consoles back this week after last weeks retro gaming. I
think lots of fun was had by all and some heartbreak losing last lives
fighting the final boss from Streets Of Rage just a single combo from
victory! :-/ So if you've been itching for some Halo 3, Rock Band or Super
Smash Brothers Brawl then make sure you turn up on Wednesday and have some
fun on your afternoon off.
Also we'll have free refreshments for all attendees so that gotta be worth
something in these money stricken recessionary times. We are all students
after all :)
Traditional Gaming
Continues tonight from 6pm in CG20 in The Henry Grattan Building and
Wednesday from 6pm in the Seminar Room, in The Hub. We have a huge
collection of all your favourite board, card and roleplaying games! So
there's definitely something to suit everyone. Free refreshments will be
provided as usual both nights.

Hey Folks,
As you may or may not know this week is Arts Week and GamesSoc are getting
artsy!
This Wednesday in the seminar room at 2pm GameSoc will be providing the
gaming entertainment at the Arts Week carnival, in the form of our Retro
Gaming event and we'll also be showing off our artistic side with our
Pixel Art display.
-Retro Gaming-
What's Retro Gaming?! Retro gaming is a trip down memory lane with
GamesSoc as we setup all your favourite consoles of years gone by such as
the NES, Super Nintendo (SNES), Sega Mega Drive, Atari, N64, Dreamcast,
PSOne and lots more! We encourage people to bring along any old retro
games or consoles they may own themselves and we'll be providing lots of
free refreshments throughout! So make sure you come along and revisit some
gaming history this Wednesday at 2pm, in The Seminar Room.
-Pixel Art-
Our Pixel Art will be on display throughout the hub on Wednesday afternoon
also. Pixel Art ties in with retro gaming and is GamesSocs attempt at
recreating some of the iconic characters of gaming in all their 8 and
16-bit pixelized glory! How are we going to do this? Well you'll have to
just turn up to the hub and see for yourselves! Keep an eye out for them
at the Arts Week carnival on Wednesday afternoon from 2pm.
Hope to see you all there on Wednesday :)
