[Announce-gamesoc] GamesSoc This Week: Mariokart/Soul Calibur 2 & Day of Defeat Tournaments!

Hey folks, - Mariokart/Soul Calibur 2 Tournament - Day of Defeat Tournament - Hoodies - Mariokart/Soul Calibur 2 Tournament- This Wednesday for our last console gaming session of the year, we'll be holding a joint Mariokart and Soul Calibur 2 gamecube tournament! Its going to be a great end of year gaming session with lots of gamecubes and wii's setup and of course the usual loads of free refreshments. Entry will be 2 for the event, which is on this Wednesday at 2pm in the seminar room. - Day of Defeat Tournament - This Thursday at lab gaming, will see our first ever Day of Defeat tournament! We'll be playing a random teams tournament with prizes of mousemats and games up for grab. Entry for the event is free as this will be our last lab gaming of the year :( So make sure you come out, as there will be plenty of CounterStrike, Trackmania, GTA 2 aswell as the free DoD tournament! Lab Gaming runs Thursday from 6-9pm in C204, in the Henry Grattan building. - Hoodies - As per the last mail, we still have some hoodies available for 40 in various sizes. So if you'd like a gamessoc hoodie, either come down to console gaming to get one this Wednesday or send an email to gamessoc(a)redbrick.dcu.ie And that's your last mail from me for the year! We've had a great this year, we had lots of fun and even won an award! We're looking forward to another kick ass year next year and hope you all enjoy this last week of college with gamessoc! Hey folks, - Console Gaming - Lab Gaming - Hoodies - Console Gaming - Consoles is on as usual this week, same time same place, which is Wednesday at 2pm in the seminar room. We'll have our XBox 360, PS3, Wii and of course Rock Band all setup for the afternoon. As always free refreshments will be provided :) and we'll also have Mario Kart Wii this week, which was just released and looks to be a whole lot of fun! - Lab Gaming - Come along to Lab Gaming this week! We have lots of games available to play, including CounterStrike, Day of Defeat, Starcraft, Grand Theft Auto 2 and lots more. Lab Gaming is on Thursday from 6-9pm in C204 in the Henry Grattan building. - Hoodies - Just to remind everyone, we now have a small amount of GamesSoc hoodies available for anyone who wishes to buy one! The hoodies cost 40 and we will be selling them on a first come first serve basis. So if you'd like to get your hands on one, just come along to Console Gaming on Wednesday afternoon and we'll see what we have available. And that's it for another week! [Announce-gamesoc] Day of Defeat Tournament Postponed

Hey guys, This is just a quick update on the DoD tournament. Basically not enough committee members will be around tomorrow night to run the tournament due to the Clubs & Socs awards being on in the helix, so we're postponing this tournament until next week. We'll hopefully run it next Thursday at lab gaming, keep an eye out for the next weekly mail where we'll announce it again. Normal lab gaming will still be on tomorrow evening from 6-9pm. [Announce-gamesoc] GamesSoc This Week: Console Gaming + Day of Defeat Tournament

Hey folks, - Console Gaming - Day of Defeat Tournament - Hoodies - Console Gaming - We'll be having another normal console gaming session again this week, there's only 3 more left this year! There'll be lots of Halo 3, Rock Band, Super Smash Bros, Soul Calibur 2, Pro Evo and lots more! Console gaming runs from 3 - 6pm this Wednesday in the seminar room, upstairs in the hub. There'll be plenty of free resfreshments as well. - Lab Gaming: DoD Tournament - This week lab gaming will play host to a 4v4 Day of Defeat tournament. The tournament will be free entry with prizes of games and steelseries mousemats. Plenty of other games will be played during the event too, including CounterStrike, GTA2, Starcraft and lots more. So come along this Thursday play lots of games and be in with the chance of winning some really cool prizes for free! Lab Gaming runs from 6-9pm in C204 in the Henry Grattan building. - Hoodies - As per the last email, if you have ordered a GamesSoc hoodie and have not yet collected it, we urge you to do so as soon as possible. Starting Friday we will be selling on any remaining uncollected hoodies to other members. Hoodies can be collected on Wednesday during console gaming or you can email us to arrange a collection time at gamessoc(a)redbrick.dcu.ie Well thats it for this week, just a quick congratulations to everyone who won prizes in the tournaments at the LAN over the weekend, safe to say everyone enjoyed themselves and were all very very tired afterwards! [Announce-gamesoc] BYOPC LAN tomorrow + Last chance to collect hoodies!

Hey guys, - BYOPC LAN - Just a quick reminder that the BYOPC LAN starts at 12pm tomorrow in the venue, in the hub. We'll be gaming for a straight 24 hours with competition games held in: -- Call of Duty 4 (5v5) -- CounterStrike: Source (5v5) -- Company of Heroes (2v2) -- Unreal Tournament 3 (1v1) We'll also be playing tons of other games throughout the night so come along for a weekend of non-stop gaming! For everyone bringing a PC to the event you will need the following: - LAN Cable - Power Adapter - Headphones (no speakers will be allowed) - PC, Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse. Entrance to the event is 10, there will be lots of really cool prizes being given out in the tournaments, we've gone all out this time as its our last LAN of the year, its going to be awesome :) - GamesSoc Hoodies - As it stands, the majority of the hoodies have been sold, but we are still holding onto a handful that have still not been collected. If you have ordered a hoodie but not yet collected it, we urge you to pay for and collect it as soon as possible. From next Friday (April 11th) we will be selling any remaining hoodies on to other members. That means if you missed out on ordering a hoodie last time round, just send a mail to gamessoc(a)redbrick.dcu.ie detailing what size hoodie you'd like and we'll see what we can do for you.
