Ohi,
Well, week 12 is coming to a close and with that, the end of the
semester!
For those of you who ordered hoodies, our shipment arrived today and if
you are around DCU, you can collect yours from 2:15pm in the Clubs &
Societies office upstairs in the Hub. If you're not around, don't fret,
we'll lock them up safe and sound until next Semester.
And with that, Games Soc would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year! Keep an eye on your email though, as we will more than
likely be organising some form of outing during the break.
Merry Christmas!

-Mario Bros DS Tournament-
This Wednesday we're holding another mini-tournament (which means free

you will need to bring your own DS (or borrow one on the day).
The game itself isn't required as it has download play. Sign ups taking
place from 2:30 with the tournament itself starting at 3pm. Mystery
prize for the winner!
-Team Fortress 2 Tournament-
Also this week we are holding our end of year Lab Gaming tournament! A
6v6 in Team Fortress 2. Sign ups take place from 6:30 on Thursday in
C204 with the competition itself starting around 7pm with a €2 entry fee.
A selection of games for the winning team!
-Warpcon-
As previously mentioned, Warpcon is happening in January. We are
arranging lodgings in a hostel for those wishing to go, so if you want
to get in on the booking with us, reply to this email and let us know.
More info about Warpcon here:

On another note, our hoodie order should be completed sometime this

Hello,
Welcome to Week 11. Hopefully you've all been good students and have been
continuously working on all those assignments.
Our events are on as usual, regardless of assignment and project
deadlines!
-Traditional Gaming
Both Monday (in CG19) and Wednesday (CG06) evenings from 6pm we have our usual
Traditional Gaming slot, with all sorts of non-electronic games ranging
from boards games, to RPGs and sometimes even War Gaming (if that sort
of thing floats your boat)!
-Blinky Night
Then on Tuesday from around 7pm onwards, we all log onto Blinky, our
gaming server for an evening of online gaming from the comfort of our
very own homes.
Blinky here: http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?board=12.0
Steam Group here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/gamessoc
-Console Gaming
On Wednesday we take over the Old Bar (in the Hub) from 2pm-6pm with Console Gaming,
where we bring out some consoles and stuff and play games and stuff.
Yay.
-Lab Gaming
Finally on Thursday we head over to the Henry Grattan (C204 to be exact)
for Lab Gaming, where you can play all your favourite computer games.
Don't worry if you don't have a steam account, we have several spare -
get there quickly though, they get snapped up pretty fast.
We also have free refreshments at all our events! (Harass the
appropriate committee members at each event)
That's about it for this week, have fun and good luck with any/all
assignments/projects!
