The week of our 24 hour BYOPC LAN has finally arrived! It starts at 12pm
this Saturday and ends 12pm the following Sunday.
The tournaments are still not 100% finalised and are currently still
being voted on, see:

There are lots of prizes up for grabs for the various tournaments,
including mousemats, games and other hardware!
You can sign up in advance at www.byopc.dcu.ie - entry will be €10
Regular events are still on:
Monday - Traditional Gaming from 6pm in CG19
Tuesday - Blinky night from 7pm
Wednesday - Console Gaming from 2pm in the Old Bar, then Tradition
Gaming from 6pm in CG19
Thursday - Lab Gaming in C204

Hello there,
Hope you all had a good week last week. Here's what's up and coming in
the next week or so:
-AGM

-Halo 3 Tournament

It is almost that time of year again to re-elect a brand new committee
to run this wonderful society next year! The AGM will be held on
Wednesday the 7th at 7:30pm in CG19. We encourage everyone who can make
it to attend, as every vote counts. There will also be free pizza. Yay.
With the AGM comes a few changes to our constitution members have brought
up which need to be voted on:
Amend the Trips & Events Officer's duties to include:
ii) To organise events which aren't included as regular events
And:
To rename "Traditional Gaming" to "Tabletop Gaming"

Another remind that the LAN will happening soon (the 3rd and 4th of
April) in the Helix, so be sure to clear that weekend if you haven't
already for 24 hours of fun(*).
-Halo 3 Tournament-
This Wednesday we are holding a Halo 3 team tournament in the Old Bar
from 2:30pm. Entry will be €2 per person, with prizes for the winning
team. Teams consist of 4 members, but don't worry if you don't have a
team already, come along and we'll set you up with someone.
-Clyde-
We have ordered a brand new gaming server, Cylde. If anyone has any
suggestions as to what server they would like us to host (within reason
of course) you can post here:

Hello there,
A shorter than usual week this week, with St. Patrick's day this
Wednesday, as a result Console & Traditional Gaming will not be held.
Try to carry on through the overwhelming sadness you must now be feeling to:
-Halo Legends Screening
-Unreal Tournament Tournament [sic]
-Halo Legends Screening-
This Tuesday we are holding a Halo Legends screening in CG04 with AMS.
The start time is 7pm and refreshments will be provided!
-Unreal Tournament Tournament-
We are also holding an Unreal Tournament 2004 1v1 deathmatch tournament
at Lab Gaming. The tournament itself will start at around 6:30pm, so show
up early to sign up. A copy of Bad Company 2 for the lucky winner!
Regular events are on in the same places as usual (except for Console
Gaming and Traditional Gaming, as mentioned):
Traditional Gaming - CG19 Monday from 6pm

Following the success of Bandit, Gamessoc have begun planning their
video game for next year. We're looking for the following:
- Programmers (Java)
- Graphics Artists / Spriters
- Musicians (Digital Music)
- Writers / Scripters
- Level Designers
Not only will you be helping charity but it'll be great on a CV and
improve your skills in whatever area you decide to help out with. Even
if you have little experience in any area but are willing to learn, then
sign up! Just be sure you'll have free time during this semester and
next semester to help out.

will be filled with all kinds of tech related events and talks.

Just for those of you who missed it last week, we are holding another
BYOPC LAN on the 3rd and 4th of April in the Helix. We will also be

Oh hi,
We have a lot in store this week:

This Wednesday we are holding a FIFA tournament in association with EA.
They are kindly sponsoring us with lots of prizes for the winners, as
well as providing gaming pods on the day to use.
The tournament will be held from 12pm in the Old Bar in the Hub.
-BYOPC LAN-
This is just an early notice for all of you that we are holding another
bring your own PC LAN this April (the 3rd and 4th to be exact), so clear
your diaries now.
-Counter-Strike Tournament-
We are also holding a Counter-Strike: Source tournament on Thursday
during lab gaming. Entry will be €2 on the day and don't worry if you
don't have a team, we'll help you find one on the day.
The tournament will start around 7pm, so be sure to arrive before so
everything can get organised early.
-Botwars Trip-
We still have a spot left for our trip to Galway with RedBrick. There
will be plenty of events at this, including a LAN, a Metal Gear Solid
play as well as numerous talks.
