[Announce-gamesoc] Week 8: AGM, Geometry Wars Tournament and the Mega 64 Finale

Hey everybody, Got a important announcement this week so listen up! Here's the roundup: - AGM - Geometry Wars Mini Tournament - Mega 64 Finale - Traditional Gaming - Lab Gaming - AGM - We're holding our AGM on Tuesday April 12th at 7pm in room CG01. This is a damn important meeting to elect a new committee for the following year, so all of you have to come. The free pizza only sweetens the deal. List of Games Soc committee positions you can run for: - Chairperson - Secretary - Treasurer - Webmaster - Public Relations Officer (PRO) - Console Events Officer - PC Events Officer - Traditional Officers (2 positions) - Events Officer - Extraordinary Member Please mail us back if you'd like to run for a position. - Geometry Wars Mini Tournament - All right, on Wednesday at 2pm in the old bar we'll be running a Geometry Wars tournament. It's free of charge and the winner gets a great prize so no bitching about "I have Arthritis" or something stupid like that. Rules are simple, highest score wins! Aside from the tournament consoles will be set up as usual and this week if you have them bring your PSP's, DS's and 3DS cause I'm in the mood for some Tetris and Peace Walker. As always our events will have snacks to munch on. - Mega 64 Finale - We're finishing this on Tuesday at 6pm in room CG01. Fuck this if you haven't been following up until now just go watch some of their stuff. I'll be bringing delicious items for you to scoff. - Traditional Gaming - Monday and Wednesday at 6pm in room C165 as always. There's plenty to play and if you'd like another game just call either Garcon Johnson or Jiggy and they'll fetch you the freshest, juiciest game we have. - Lab Gaming - What do you mean "you're shite at Killing Floor"? I assure you, had not I had dust in my eyes that tournament would have been as easy as pie. My team was also comprised of incompetent boobs, so clearly I was the real winner. *Ahem* Lab Gaming will be on at 6pm Thursday in room C204. Hey everybody, Here's a quick announcement that DITCon is on this weekend and some people from DIT are coming over to sell tickets this Thursday at Lab Gaming from 6pm onwards. The LAN is on March 26th- 27th in Lucan Spa Hotel, it'll be €20 for tickets and all proceeds are going towards charity. [Announce-gamesoc] Week 7: Killing Floor Tournament, Mega 64 version 3 and food

Hey folks, Apologies for the late announce I had to escape from Jonathan Liebesman's basement after saying that Battle: LA was one of the biggest shits a director could have taken on a film since Avatar. He then preceded to beat me with a bat and stuffed me in his car. I don't remember much after that. Here's the lineup for this week: - Killing Floor Tournament - Mega 64 Version 3 - Traditional Gaming - Console Gaming - Killing Floor Tournament - This Thursday at 6pm in C204 we'll be holding a Killing Floor Tournament. It'll be 5 per team and the team who survives the most waves wins glorious prizes. As always there's plenty of other games if you don't want to take part in the tournament. Of course you'd be a little bitch if you didn't compete. Refreshments for all. - Mega 64 Version 3 - On Tuesday 6pm in CG01 we're watching the first half of Mega 64 version 3. Will Sean find out more about the mysterious FALZ?, Is Marcus actually alive or is that just horrible sowing? And what the fuck was that thing that attacked Dr Poque? Find out all this and more in Mega 64 Version 3. Candy for all. - Traditional Gaming - On Monday and Wednesday at 6pm in room C165 we're playing brand new games like Fluxx: Zombies and Back to the Future! Johnson and Jiggy will be there to serenade you all by singing Huey Lewis' classic "The Power of Love". There will be munchies for all. - Console Gaming - Wednesday 2pm in the Old Bar and we will be playing Donkey Kong, Call of Duty and more. Unfortunately, I wont be there to show you all just how much you suck at Mario Kart DS. Now stop crying, I know I'm amazing and that you all simply come to bask in my glory but fret not, I will be back the following week to grace you with my presence. Edible objects for all. Hey everybody, I'm sure you're all set for drinking on St Patrick's day but before then cruise on over to our events for some refreshing, full-bodied gaming. Here's the rundown: - Movie Night: Mega 64 version 2 - Traditional Gaming - Console Gaming - Lab Gaming - 3DS Trip - Movie Night: Mega 64 version 2 - Since Mega 64 was such a hit last week (along with the pancakes) we'll be showing version 2 of Mega 64. It'll be in room CG01 at 6pm so come along for more of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcoIMrgHI-A - Traditional Gaming - This Monday and Wednesday at 6pm in room C165. We'll run power plants in Power Grid, run dictatorships in Risk and not make any fucking sense in Flux. - Console Gaming - On Wednesday at 2pm we'll be in the Old Bar with a fresh batch of games straight from the Xbox Live Arcade. Projectors will be used for that real fuzzy arcade experience. We now have Kinect along with brand new Rock Band 3, Little Big Planet 2 and much more. - Lab Gaming - Cancelled this week due to Paddy's Day. We'll drink in it's honor. - 3DS Trip - Hopefully you wont be too hungover after Paddy's day to check out the 3DS. We'll be meeting this Friday at 2pm in the Hub and heading into town to check out the 3DS and see if it's the future of gaming or just another Virtual Boy. *warning, the 3DS may cause dizziness, eye fatigue, vomiting and loss of sex drive* That's it for this week hope you have a great St Patrick's Day and a easy to manage hangover after. [Announce-gamesoc] Week 5: Dawn of War, Pokemon, Mega 64 and Deliciousness

Hey everybody, This week we've got some palatable full course tournaments this week that I hope you'll enjoy. All weekly events go on as usual. Here's the roundup: - Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Tournament - Pokemon Black & White Mini Tournament - Mega 64 Movie Night - Traditional Gaming - Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Tournament - On 6pm Thursday in C204 we're having a Dark Crusade tournament. It'll be a free for all in the first round then the top 4 players of that match go on into 1v1 rounds to determine the winner. It'll be €2 per entry and the prize this time will be a brand spanking new copy of Dawn of War 2: Retribution. Other then the tournament we'll be gaming and finding new ways to grief players on our servers. So be sure to come along for good times (at our PC officers expense). - Pokemon Black & White Mini Tournament - With the new Pokemon games just out in stores we decided to hold a Mini Tournament just for it. Entry is free and a glorious prize to the winner. The rules are simple: only Generation V Pokemon, max level is 20, it's only 3 Pokemon and finally its a triple battle. It'll be on in the Old Bar, alongside Console Gaming and sign ups will be at 2pm and it'll begin at 2:30pm. - Mega 64 Movie Night - This Tuesday at 6pm we'll be watching the first season of Mega 64 in room CG01. But fuck it lets get eat pancakes and watch some. - Traditional Gaming - On Wednesday a D&D 4th Edition RPG will be run. It's 3-4 players so be sure to grab a spot on the day if you want it.
