Hey everyone!
Good news, our normal mailing list is back up and running, so it will
all be business as usual from here on out. Unfortunately, PC Gaming is
still off this week, we're waiting for ISS to come back to us about
imaging the new PCs to get back into it.
Here's what is happening in GamesSoc this week:

- - Trad Gaming - -
Trad gaming will be running as normal this week, on both Monday and
Wednesday in XG01. Join us from 6pm to 10pm on Monday, and 5pm to 10pm
on Wednesday - we'll bring the games, as long as you bring yourself!
Sounds like a good deal to me, though I'm definitely not biased.
- - Console Gaming - -
Consoles will be set up in X101 from 2pm to 5pm this Wednesday. What
else you ask? Well, we're holding a Wrecked tournament on the PS3!
Signups start at 2pm and cost 2 euros each, while the tournament
starts at 3pm. Not interested? We'll have the usual consoles set
up too. But most importantly, get #rekt
- - Pub Quiz - -
Just a reminder, our pub quiz is on this Thursday! We'll be kicking
off in the NuBar from 7pm to test your minds on a variety of topics,
including boardgames/CCGs, RPG/wargames, consoles, PC gaming, gaming
music, game related pictures, DCU/GamesSoc knowledge, and retro
gaming.
Signups cost 2 per person, and each team requires 4 people to enter.
As well as the normal prizes for the top three teams, we'll also have
random spot prizes and a raffle running to win even more prizes!
Raffle tickets will be 50c each, or 5 for 2 - you could win a
Dreamcast with Tomb Raider, Fur Fighters, Quake III Arena and MDK2.

- - 48 Hour LAN - -
We still have spaces open for signing up for the 48 Hour LAN on the
29th of May until the 31st of May! Interested in going? Reply to this
email with your name and student number (if you're a current DCU
student). You'll also need to pay a 20 deposit to secure your place -
we will need this paid to a committee member within the next few
weeks. We're working on sponsorship at minute, and pleased that
Logitech are the first to sponsor this event!
Want to bring your friends from outside DCU? No problem, just get them
to email us their details! Sign up spots are limited, so get your
emails in ASAP.
