Week 6: Halloween is Here!
*Halloween Event!*
Hope that everyone enjoyed a rest during their long weekend after the
intensity of Humans vs Zombies! HvZ might be over for this year, but the
Spooky Season definitely isn’t! This Thursday, to celebrate Halloween,
we’ll be hosting a special Wildcard Halloween Night in C103 from 6pm to
10pm! We’ll be playing the DVD Boardgame Atmosfear from 6pm to 8pm, then
teaming up with the Anime and Manga Society to screen Blood: The Last
Vampire from 8pm onwards! We’ll also be providing both sweets and pizza!
*Pokemon League!*
Your Pokemon Journey is about begin, as Gamesoc’s Pokemon League launches
this week! Entrants will compete against Gamesoc’s 8 Gym Leaders with the
aim of becoming the Pokemon League Champion!

Tabletop Gaming this week will be in the Cuilin Room this Wednesday, from

certain popular bean-farming game that’s been making the rounds!

PC Gaming will be taking place this week in the E-Hub from 6-10pm!
Remember to bring your own laptops, headsets, mice etc. as well! While we

Week 5: HUMANS VS ZOMBIES!
*The Zombies have Arrived!*
It’s finally here… Gamesoc’s annual Humans Vs Zombies (HvZ) event! HvZ will
be running all week throughout the campus, so if you’re a Human be sure to
stay armed and vigilant at all times against the Zombie menace! To help you
survive these dangerous times, you can find a copy of the HvZ Survival
Handbook attached to this email! If you’re participating in HvZ, remember
to check your emails regularly for updates about the game!
During the evenings, we’ll be running special one-off Night Missions, where
Humans and Zombies will compete to complete an objective! They’ll be
running on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm onwards and the first
Night Mission will be about saving Lorenzo, our beloved Gamesoc mascot!
In addition to the main event, we’ll be adding a zombie-themed twist to our
regular weekly events, as well as hosting HvZ intersocs with other
societies! The full details of those are down below!
*WARNING: The Zombie Virus Has Spread to Other Societies!*
First of all, Gamesoc wishes to thank all the societies who kindly donated
to our HvZ raffle that took place last Wednesday! These are: Redbrick,
Anime and Manga, Drama, Airsoft, Alternative & Indie Music and Engineering!
This Tuesday, Dungeons and Dragons Society will be running a Zombie Horde
Event in CG19 from 6pm to 10pm! Players will fight to hold off the Zombie
Horde as long as possible, but just like in HvZ, if you fall to the Zombies
you’ll become a Zombie yourself! Player Characters will be at Level 3, and
if you don’t have one prepared there will be premade character sheets
available!
On Thursday, Anime and Manga Society will be hosting a Zombie-themed
screening night in C104 from 6pm onwards! The anime that are going to be
screened will be decided by voting in this poll

with the top two choices being shown! If you’re interested in going to it,

part of our Humans Vs Zombies Week, we’ll be having a particular emphasis
on zombie games in addition to our regular Console Gaming, from Left 4 Dead
to Dead Rising to State of Decay and many more!

*Tabletop Gaming*
Tabletop Gaming will be going on in the Cuilin Room on both Monday and
Wednesday, 5pm to 10pm on both days! On Monday at 8pm, we’ll also be
running a Magic: The Gathering Draft in the Pairc Room! The set used will
be War of the Spark and the entry fee will be €7, with signups taking place
during Tabletop Gaming!

as our usual PC Gaming, we’ll also be running a Left 4 Dead 2 Tournament as
part of our Humans Vs Zombies Week!

Week 4: Hype for HvZ + Pokemon League!
*The Horde Approachs...*
As Halloween looms on the horizon, so does our yearly October event: Humans
Vs Zombies (otherwise known as HvZ), which will be running all throughout
Week 5! We’ll be running a HvZ stand in the U this Tuesday and Wednesday
from 10 to 4, so feel free to come down and sign up! We’ll also be running
a HvZ raffle this Wednesday at 6pm where we’ll be raffling off Nerf guns
and darts, which is a great way of preparing yourself for the main event!
