Oh hi,
I hope you've all had a pleasant weekend, refreshed for yet another week of college.
-EirtaKon -Hoodies -Regular Events
-EirtaKon- Next weekend (13th - 15th November) DCU's very own Anime and Manga convention is on (surprisingly enough, in DCU). There are holding several games tournaments throughout the weekend. So for anybody who has prebooked tickets, or just wants to buy in on the day, we will be refunding your full ticket price. So just bring your proof of purchase to one of our events and give it to a committee member to reclaim your money. More information about EirtaKon can be found here: http://www.eirtakon.com/
-Hoodies- We have also decided to extend our hoodie purchase deadline until this Friday. So if you're interested in buying a GamesSoc hoodie, in any colour or size, regular or zippy, just find a committee member at one of weekly events and give them a €10 deposit along with your order details and email address.
Here's what the regular navy looks like: http://gallery.redbrick.dcu.ie/d/159627-1/gamessochoody.jpg Oooh! etc.
-Regular Events- As per usual our weekly events never stop!
Traditional Gaming: This week, Traditional Gaming will be held in the Glass Room upstairs in the Hub (that's the room beside where all the pool tables are). So be sure to come along from 6pm on both Monday and Wednesday and get your fix of Board Gaming, RPGs, War Gaming and much more!
Game Programming Tutorials: On Tuesday from 5-6pm we set up in L101 (the computing building) to show you how to make your very own game. So if you'd like to learn how games are put together from scratch and you'd like to try make your own, be sure to come along! Also if you're interested in helping GamesSoc make a game for charity, here is the place to get in contact with us.
Console Gaming: We're taking over the Old Bar again from 2pm this Wednesday (well, part of it) for Console Gaming! We'll have all the usual games set up, as well as our usual free refreshments.
Lab Gaming: As usual, Lab Gaming will take place on Thursday from 6pm in the Henry Grattan building in room C204, where you can wile away the evening playing all your favourite games, such as L4D, CSS, Worms and many others.
That's pretty much it for this week. Any comments, suggestions, ideas can be sent to us at games@redbrick.dcu.ie
See you around, Seamus
