Hey everyone, just a quick reminder of what's happening this week.
AGM Consoles Lab Gaming Traditional Gaming Elections Karaoke
AGM Wednesday afternoon 2pm in CG12 in Henry Grattan. This is the time of year where you guys get to pick the most suitable candidates to run your GamesSoc next year. We would really appreciate everyone's attendance at this meeting as you all have a say in how this Society is run. We will also have free refreshments so that's another reason to turn up! :P See you all there on Wednesday.
Consoles So right when this meeting is over all you gotta do is head right next door to CG11 for some Rock Band, Street Fighter IV, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Halo 3 and much more. Consoles will start directly after the meeting until 6pm. Plenty of free refreshments so well worth the trip of about 10 feet! :P
Lab Gaming This Thursday from 6pm in Henry Grattan C204, the usual spot for some great PC action. Same great games, hope to see you all there.
Traditional gaming Wednesday evening we will continue our gaming in CG11 until 10pm with all your favourite Board, War, Strategy and Card games. More free refreshments so if you hang around for the evening you could get your lunch and dinner on GamesSoc! But Traditional Gaming will also be held on Monday evening in CG12 in Henry Grattan. 6pm as usual, so see you all there.
Elections This is a big week for DCU with the elections of a new SU and Conveners. We have members running for Student Union President (Alan Keegan) and for Vice-Pres (John Murphy), so make sure you get out there on Tuesday and Wednesday and use your vote. We also have members competing against each other so it would only be fair to give them both a mention. These are John Needham and Padraig O'Connor and are both running for Engineering and Computing Convener.
Best of luck to all candidates and may the best succeed!!
Karaoke Don't forget people, this Tuesday is Karaoke night for GamesSoc so if you've signed up make sure to be at The Hub and meet the gang by 18:30, dinner will be served at 19:30 and afterwards you can all sing your hearts out! :D If you haven't booked a place and would still like to go then mail us at games@redbrick.dcu.ie asap and see if there are any spaces available.
We want to say thanks to everyone who attended the LAN on Saturday night. We hope everyone had fun. Also a congrats, to GamesSoc members, Kevin Fox, Shane Khublall, David Jacob and myself who had a great weekend at Vaticon XV in UCD, over the weekend showing up the competition taking 3 of the top 4 places in the Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament and taking home some great prizes.
I think that's it for this week, so again if there is anything you want discussed or to complain about just make your way to http://games.dcu.ie/forums and join the chats. And make sure to use your vote on Wednesday.
