Week 5: Incoming Zombie Apocalypse!

Hey guys,

I hope everybody enjoyed their day off at the hands of Ophelia. The storm may not have been the end of the world, but the zombie threat might. So this week we'll be beginning preparations for Humans vs Zombies, to ensure the highest survival rates possible.

Humans vs Zombies

The zombies are coming! Our zombie-themed chase game, Humans vs Zombies, takes place next week - all week. Humans must fend off the zombies with Nerf guns, rolled-up socks, or their wit. It was shortlisted for Best Event at the Clubs and Socs Awards last year, and this year we're partnering with a bunch of other societies (Airsoft, Harry Potter, Psychology, Postgrad, Redbrick, Circus) to make it better than ever. 
Sign up by clicking here before Monday and join the event on Faceboook too. We'll also have a stand in the Henry Grattan building from 12pm until 2pm on Thursday and Friday if you want to come by and ask some questions, or sign up then. 

Wednesday

We'll be in XG01 for all the following events:

Console Gaming: We'll be holding the second part of our FIFA 18 tournament from 2-5pm. We won't be taking new sign ups, but if you made it through the first round last week, come along and defend your honour. The winner will be awarded with a €20 GameStop voucher, and bragging rights probably. Console gaming will take place throughout as always.

EGM: Finally, we'll be electing our Console Officer no. 2, at 5pm. If you want to run for the position, or have your say in who we should trust with our beloved consoles and our beloved Eamon, come along.

Zombiology: DCU Psychology Society are hosting our first HvZ themed event - Zombiology. They'll be giving us some insight into the minds of zombies, and how we defenceless humans can evade them. Maybe we'll learn that, while they may not be human, they're still people too. Maybe. This will take place from 6pm, and it could be the key to your survival next week.

Trad Gaming: Trad Gaming will take place as normal following the Zombiology, with maybe a spooky game or two. 

Thursday

Raffle & Info night: Thanks to the wonderful societies we've partnered with, we have over €260 worth of goods to raffle off in anticipation for HvZ. We have some Nerf guns and darts, and maybe a board game or two. This will be happening in C124 at 6pm, followed by some information about HvZ featuring the Airsoft Society.

Speed dating: Harry Potter society are hosting Magical Speed Dating in XG01 from 6:30pm. You can go there straight after the raffle, maybe impress a few people with your big guns and make a few friends.

Hopefully we'll be seeing you throughout the next few days as you hone your survival skills and prepare for a week of hunting zombies, or eating brains depending on where your allegiance lies.
