Week 5: HUMANS VS ZOMBIES!

It’s finally here… Gamesoc’s annual Humans Vs Zombies (HvZ) event! HvZ will be running all week throughout the campus, so if you’re a Human be sure to stay armed and vigilant at all times against the Zombie menace! To help you survive these dangerous times, you can find a copy of the HvZ Survival Handbook attached to this email! If you’re participating in HvZ, remember to check your emails regularly for updates about the game! During the evenings, we’ll be running special one-off Night Missions, where Humans and Zombies will compete to complete an objective! They’ll be running on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm onwards and the first Night Mission will be about saving Lorenzo, our beloved Gamesoc mascot! In addition to the main event, we’ll be adding a zombie-themed twist to our regular weekly events, as well as hosting HvZ intersocs with other societies! First of all, Gamesoc wishes to thank all the societies who kindly donated to our HvZ raffle that took place last Wednesday! These are: Redbrick, Anime and Manga, Drama, Airsoft, Alternative & Indie Music and Engineering! This Tuesday, Dungeons and Dragons Society will be running a Zombie Horde Event in CG19 from 6pm to 10pm! Players will fight to hold off the Zombie Horde as long as possible, but just like in HvZ, if you fall to the Zombies you’ll become a Zombie yourself! Player Characters will be at Level 3, and if you don’t have one prepared there will be premade character sheets available! On Thursday, Anime and Manga Society will be hosting a Zombie-themed screening night in C104 from 6pm onwards! The anime that are going to be screened will be decided by voting in this poll, with the top two choices being shown! If you’re interested in going to it, please vote in the poll before Thursday to have your vote heard!  | Console Gaming |
Console Gaming will be on in the Hive this Wednesday from 1pm to 6pm! As part of our Humans Vs Zombies Week, we’ll be having a particular emphasis on zombie games in addition to our regular Console Gaming, from Left 4 Dead to Dead Rising to State of Decay and many more! As a heads-up, if you're looking to take a game out of the gamesoc boxes to play, please ask a committee member to take it out for you!  | Tabletop Gaming |
Tabletop Gaming will be going on in the Cuilin Room on both Monday and Wednesday, 5pm to 10pm on both days! On Monday at 8pm, we’ll also be running a Magic: The Gathering Draft in the Pairc Room! The set used will be War of the Spark and the entry fee will be €7, with signups taking place during Tabletop Gaming!  | PC Gaming |
PC Gaming is going on in the E-Hub this Tuesday from 6pm to 10pm! As well as our usual PC Gaming, we’ll also be running a Left 4 Dead 2 Tournament as part of our Humans Vs Zombies Week! We'll also be starting our Gamesoc Pokemon League next Monday! All battles will take place through Pokemon Showdown, which can be found here! If you’re interested, please fill out the form in this link! Remember to bring your own laptops, headsets, mice etc. as well! While we have a lot of PCs, we unfortunately can't provide for everyone!
