Hi guys,

Dave here.
The last Games Soc event of the summer is about to take place in the upcoming weeks. Bear with me for a few minutes to read the email please, means a bit to me and such :o)

Here's the deal. Ye@h (the net cafe where we've been having our lans and planned to next year) is closing down on August 22nd for good. No more net cafe ever. Which also means I'm out of the job :-( So with them leaving the staff would like a going-away lan and we have been given first preference for this one.

Date has been decided on as the 22nd of August, that's a Friday. Will be 9pm until 8am and I myself will be running the night in conjunction with Nigal which means I have control of all the machines and servers for the last night of business ever there so basically we can play whatever we want. I'll list a few suggestions at bottom.

I'd ask that all those interested please reply to this email (zyox@redbrick.dcu.ie) with the subject "Yeah LAN Night" with any questions about the night. You could also go to the LAN Nights section on our forums at http://games.redbrick.dcu.ie/forums. And for those who wish to sign up, email me as soon as you can with your details. This night will also be open to non-society members (ie. any friends you want to bring) so if you would like to bring a friend just stick it in the email as well.

Right I think that's about it. Most of the committee will be there and the cafe should be full (which means 60 players, kind of good for battlefield ;-)) so it should be a really good night. Please think about it and get back to me if you are interested.

Ps, Games suggestions:
- Battlefield 1942
- Desert Combat 0.4 (excellent gulf war mod for BF)
- Galactic Conquest 0.1b (new star wars mod for BF)
- Eve of Destruction (maybe. vietnam mod for BF)
- Counter Strike (well we kind of have to don't we? heehee)
- Quake 3 (of course)
- Unreal Tournament 2003 (hahaha no bloody way)

Any other suggestions are of course welcome. anything i can have installed before the night please tell me and I'll do my best to get it on in advance so there won't be too much having to configure machines on the night. Thanks guys, sign up!
