Week 9: Smash Up, Dominicon and GXI!

Hey all! We've another busy week ahead, but first I'd just like to let youse know we'll be holding a new GamesSoc logo competition, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information. Thus, this year will be the last chance to get a hoodie with our beloved Blinky on it! We'e hoping to take orders before the end of the semester and we'll be asking for the full price (approx. €25) up front, so bear that in mind over the next few weeks. Have a great week!

Trad Gaming

Join us for Trad Gaming Monday 6-10pm and Wednesday 5-10pm in XG01. This Wednesday we'll be holding a Smash Up tournament, with sign ups and an explanation of the game rules from 5pm, and the tournament begins at 6pm. There's a €2 entry fee and a €20 Gamers World voucher for the winner, so you might as well give it a go!

Console Gaming

Console Gaming will take place as usual in XG01, 2-5pm on Wednesday. Come along, bring your friends, play your favourites and maybe try a new one!

Discord Meet-Ups

We'll be having our weekly meet-up on Discord from 8pm on both Friday and Saturday! Join the Discord server through the link in the footer, and go online at the time to play games together or just chat and send memes.

Access Pub Quiz

DCU Access Soc is holding a pub quiz in McGowans in Phibsborough from 6pm on Saturday. All proceeds will be going to charity, and I'm sure it'll be a great night!

Dominicon Turbo

Dominicon is Maynooth University Games Soc's annual games convention. It takes place in the Maynooth SU bar for the full weekend starting on Friday from 6pm and ending on Sunday. It's €10 for the whole weekend and the theme this year is "Speed." All proceeds will go to Jigsaw, the youth mental health charity. Events will include tournaments, our charity auction, gaming pub quiz, RPGs and there'll be 4 of Ireland's best speed runners coming to the con to try and beat world records in some games. We have two free tickets to raffle off, so just click here to enter!

Games Expo Ireland

Games Expo Ireland will be taking place in the RDS on the 25th and 26th of November, hosted by Dublin Comic Con and AsOne Productions. This event appeals to every type of gaming fan, featuring casual play and tournaments to voice actors and life-size interactive game sets! We also have two tickets to raffle off for this, so be sure to stay updated on the Facebook page! More information can be found on their website (http://www.gxi.ie/), and you can buy tickets here.
