Hey folks,
The Summer BYOPC LAN is on this week. That's BYOPC as in Bring Your Own PC. 3rd & 4th of September starting at 12pm Saturday and ending 12pm Sunday. Just to refresh your memories lets go over the details.
- Signing up - If you haven't signed up yet there's still time. It's a €10 entry fee and you'll just need to supply your email to sign up. Just go over to http://games.dcu.ie/#event4 and click on sign up.
- The Location - The Lan is being held in DCU, in the Helix, in the Space. To get there you just need to enter through the side door. Here's the entry location on a map: http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~paraflux/gs/campus.gif
- Tournaments - The tournament polls will be closed on Friday and some tournaments are currently in a tie so if you haven't voted yet now's the time: Solo FPS: http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?topic=3022.0 Team FPS: http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?topic=3023.0 RTS: http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?topic=3024.0 Misc: http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?topic=3025.0
There's prizes for all the tournaments and runner up prizes for 2nd and 3rd place in the RTS, Solo FPS and depending on what the Misc tournament runner up prizes for that too.
- What to bring - + PC + Extension cord + Cat-5 cable + Food + €10 fee
- Games - Dont worry if your favourite game doesn't win the tournament poll because they'll all be there and i'm sure we'll have plenty of time to rack up a few matches in all of them. Other then the game listed in those polls we have plenty more: - Counter Strike Source/1.6 - Dawn of War Dark Crusade & DoW 2 - Battlefield: Bad company 2 - League of Legend & Heroes of Newearth - Starcraft 1 & 2 - Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 - Company of Heroes - Monday Night Combat - Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory - Diablo II
and a lot more that I cant list without making this email a two-parter. Dont forget that we'll have the consoles set up with us and tables for any RPGs, wargaming and board games since the storeroom is below the venue.
I just want to send out a thanks to all members who have taken part in the survey so far. It's going to be a great help for the new year. If you haven't taken the survey yet and want to just go to http://freeonlinesurveys.com/rendersurvey.asp?sid=c8u7rmy65surugr953637
