Week 4: Love Letter, FIFA, and probably pizza

Sup guys,

Thanks all for attending the EGM, and electing our new PRO, Martin Nolan (he's never leaving us), and our new First Year Rep, Connell Kelly. The amendment to the constitution passed, so next Wednesday (week 5) we'll be voting our second Console Officer in. I hope everybody who came to The Clockwork Door last week had a great time, and those who missed it should come next time! Just a word of warning that last Wednesday a member was attacked on their way home from trad, so don't walk alone if at all possible.

Other than that, we have a fun week ahead so I'll get to that.

Trad Gaming

Trad Gaming will take place as usual, 6-10pm on Monday and 5-10pm on Wednesday in room XG01. This week we'll be having our first trad tournament of the year, and the game of choice is Love Letter. Sign ups begin at 6pm on Monday, with a €2 entry fee and a €20 Gamers World voucher for the winner. Love Letter is a simple game so if you haven't made it to (m)any trad sessions don't worry, you'll pick it up in no time. The game is about fighting to gain the affection of the princess, and quashing all potential rivals.

Disclaimer: Prize does not include princess.

Don't forget that we also provide room booking for anybody who'd like to play RPGs in DCU, just let us know a day or two in advance. Also feel free to ask about any RPGs and resources we already have.

Console Gaming

This week we'll be having our FIFA 18 tournament! If you like playing sports without any of the effort, you should come along and play in XG01. Sign ups will be taken from 2pm, with a €2 entry free and a €20 GameStop voucher up for grabs. Console gaming will take place as usual in the same room from 2pm until 5pm.

Laptop Gaming

Apparently we're really good at having technical difficulties. So for the time being, we'll be hosting Laptop Gaming in room CG02 from 5-9pm on Thursday. And don't forget to join the GamesSoc discord, which you'll find at the bottom.

Thanks for reading, I hope you all have a wonderful week.
