Dear Members,
Our Black and White night is going ahead on Wednesday the 26th. It
will take place in the new bar and there will be complimentary wine
and refreshments for everyone who comes. You dont have to be a member
of MPS, so bring all your friends. It is free to everyone. There will
be old black and white silent scary movies playing in the background
with specially selected music accompanying, so there will be a nice
relaxed atmosphere for everyone to informally 'meet and greet'. Come
along and make the effort to meet an ecletic group of people who
share your interests!
We hope to see you all there,
Maria Mulhall

Hello all,
I can confirm that the careers evening will be held at 6pm on Tuesday 8th
November (in 2 weeks time)
So far I have confirmed 2FM DJ's Rick O Shea, Jenny Heuston and 98 FM's Debbie
Allen.
The guest speakers will spend the evening with us, telling us how they got
into the media industry and what it's really like. You can ask them as many
questions as you like and have a chat with them yourselves after their speeches!!
So pencil Tuesday 8th November into your diaries for the careers night.
I will send a reminder again closer to the date.
Hope to see you all at the BLACK & WHITE BALL (Meet & Greet night) this Wednesday
at 8 in the new bar.
Regards,
Lizanne Barnwall

Hey everyone!
Thanks to everyone who came to our EGM, for those who missed it, feel free
to hunt down any of the committee and we can fill you in on what went on.
Congrats also to Damien Kelly who was elected as first year rep.
DCU TV will be holding a meeting next Tuesday, the 25th at 5pm in CG86. This
a meeting for everyone interested in any aspect of tv, whether it be filming,
editing, presenting or simply holding the boom mic. Rachel, DCU TV station
manager, Nigel, the tv tech officer, and myself, the tv programmes officer
will all be there to talk to ye. We'll be bringing a number of cameras with
us so everyone will get a chance to have a proper look at them and we'll
be giving brief introductions on how to use them so its a meeting not to
be missed! We'll also be outlining our plans for the year in greater detail,
as well as possibly organising groups and coming up with programme ideas
so anyone interested in any way should come along. Even if you prefer radio,
feel free to come along and join in, you might find a love for tv that you
never knew you had!
I'll stop now before I get really cheesy but please come along!
Provisionally, it'll be held in CG86 but keep an eye on your emails in case
it changes.
Hope to see ye all there
Gillian

Dear Members,
Thank you for joining MPS 2005/6.
Our Extraordinary general meeting will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, 19th
October in CG86 in the Henry Grattan. It is very important that you all attend
the meeting, as we, the committee will be introducing ourselves and our roles.
In the weeks leading up until now, we have been planning various events etc
for MPS, but it is essential that we hear from all of you, what you want
the society to do for you. We will announce the details of our 'meet and
greet night', which will be a cheap and informal way to mix with other members.
Also at the meeting we/you will elect a first year rep who will play an integral
part in the society.
We hope to see you all there,
(Please watch this space incase of a change in location)
