Hey all,
Just to inform you all that the industry night will not be happening this
semester. We are going to hold it off until Semester 2. Sorry for those
of you who were looking forward to it but unfortunately due to unforseen
circumstances this is the way it goes...
We promise to make it twice as good as it would have been and will have an
excellent line up. Thanks to those of you who e mailed suggestions for guest
speakers too, i will look into it now for next semester. If anyone else
has suggestions, please feel free to e mail me and i will try make it happen!!

Hey all!!
Just letting ye all know we are holding an Industry Night next monday which
is December 3rd. Time to be decided yet!!
The guest speakers have yet to be announced but will be RTE's tv presenters
and radio DJ, sound engineers, comedians and a few surprise guests!
I will let you all know by end of week the details of our guests.
Please come along and give your support to MPS, this is a great way to hear
about the ins and outs of working within the media. You will also have the
opportunity to ask questions.
It will be in the hub, but as i said all details will be confirmed by the
end of the week...so keep monday free!!
Take a break from the assignments....go on!! have a pint too :P

Here's what's coming up for MPS!
Ok, we are still getting membership requests and random ideas so.....
This THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15th, MPS will be holding a meeting in CG12
(Ground floor of the Henry Grattan) at 6PM.
At the meeting - you'll get a chance to discuss your ideas - or hear some
of ours that you might want to get involved with!
If you have not rejoined MPS and still want to, or know that your friends
are interested in joining come along, with your €4 and your student numbers
and violla- your now a member of MPS (again)!
This mailing list will be wiped soon - so you wont get all our updates etc!
As a member you will have access to all our equipment and all our events
including workshops on audio editing, image editing as well as workshops
on how to put everything together to create a good media project.
We also plan to have an industry night (provisionally in week 10!), in which
we will have guest speakers
from from different media professions to chat and answer your questions!
This was hugely successful two years ago and a
group of students were even lucky enough to get a tour of the 2fm studios
from DJ Rick O'Shea following the talk!
MPS is all about YOU - so, Programme officers fromDCU TV and DCU fm will
be there to answer any questions you may have about
making videos or radio shows!!
