Hey!
DCU FM has moved to their new studio in the Information Point downstairs
in the HUB! The launch will take place on Thursday 10th February at 9pm,
followed by band and DJ Kev in the Old Bar.
There will be a meeting next Wednesday of Week 1, at 2pm in CG29 in the
Henry Gratten. Please come if you are interested in signing up for a show.
We will be webcasting every Wednesday from Week 2, from 12-4pm, so if you're
interested in doing a show, come along and sign up for a half hour/ hour
show over the next few weeks.
We will be looking for people every week to do an Irish show, 2 music shows,
lunchtime show and current affairs/documentary. We also need people for
jingles, so if you have any ideas please bring them to us!
There will be a news bulletin every week at 1pm. Vinny Walsh is our news
editor and he will also be looking for a team for the news every week.
Anyone who has contacted me about shows for DCU FM week, I have your names
and
ideas, so theres no need to send them to me again. So start planning shows
and recording interviews etc, as we only have 5 weeks left! (7th-11th March!)
I also need people who are able to work the desk in the studio so if you're
interested in the production side, please come along to the meeting, and
meet our tech officer.

Hey everyone
Hope exams and stuff went well for everyone.
We have an awful lot on this semester and we are looking for people to help
out.
Firstly, MPS are making a promotional video that will be sent out to all
the secondry schools in Ireland. We have been asked to focus on aspects
of student life, that do not revolve around exams.
We will be filming as many events as we physically can, so we are looking
for people to form crews: camera people, sound people, runners...

hey all, sorry to disturb all the study, but MPS are looking for an editor
to edit a short film produced and scripted and already filmed by Michele
Addante. Easy work especially if you've edited before. Unfortunately we
need it begun and finished before the end of January, so if you'd like to
see your name on the credits of DCU TV's only short film so far this year
and can spare two or three afternoons/ days over the next two and a half

Just a few things to update you all on.
Firstly thanks a million for all your support this semester and well done
to everyone who produced things.
We have secured a sponsorship deal with ESB and AIB so we will be investing
in some much needed equipment for both DCU FM and DCU TV early next semester.
Here are a few of the upcoming events to look out for in semester two:
February: Thursday 10th: DCUfm launch party in the old bar.
Tuesday 22nd: MPS table quiz in the old bar.
March: DCUfm week 7th-12th
Thursday 24th: DCUtv showcase
Thursday 31st: Hybrid awards in the Venue.
It's going to be busy so get producing!!!

Just to let all you aspiring TV heads know that TVYP (Television for Young
People) will be taking place in Edinburgh August 2005, as part of the Media
Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival. It's an invaluable
event for any would who would like to pursue a career in television, and
an event that would never be available to students in Ireland.

Hey people,
As you know by now MPS are having their Christmas shin dig this Thursday...9th
December.
Just a few changes to the running of the night....
It kicks off in THE VENUE at 8pm with FREE WINE and screenings of work done
so far this year, including the premiere of "DCU's Dingiest House", starring
Alan Flannigan, as a smelly student contestant. Don't miss it.
It doesn't cost anything to go to the screenings so come along and give
your support...and get yourself some wine.
The night then continues in Voodoo Lounge at 10pm, where we have a band...DCU's
infamous "FUNK YO MAMA", presented by the Ecclectic Music Soc. The DJ will
then take over for the rest of the night and keep ye boppin along til the
wee hours of the morning (aka 3am).
Tickets will go on sale tomorrow...thats Tuesday 7th...in the Hub from 1-3pm.
They are on sale Wednesday 1-3pm and all day Thursday.
Tickets cost 4euro and 3euro if you are a member of any of the participating
societies. You can also buy your ticket on the night at the door in Voodoo
Lounge.
There is a free bus to Voodoo Lounge for the first 50 people. It leaves
at 10pm from outside the Helix after the DCUTV screenings.
HOWEVER...If you wish to avail of the free bus available for a limited amount
of people...you must have your ticket on the night.
