Hey,
Anyone wishing to enter the smedias, has to have their entries ready by
Tuesday at 5pm. The closing date isnt until Wednesday, but because of the
postal strike we have to courier them to the offices. I'll be in the clubs
and socs office, first floor in the HUB, on Tuesday evening to collect the
entries and give ye the forms to sign to enter. Can everyone who wants to
enter, we are paying the entry fee, email me back and let me know if Tuesday
at 5 suits.

Hey guys,
The deadline for the smedias is fast approaching, all entries have to be
in by March 31st, a good bit earlier than previous years! For all the details
on categories and entry requirements check out the oxygen website, www.oxygen.ie.
If you want to enter a category can you please let me know as the MPS will
pay for your regrestration fee. The only catch is that i need to know by
Monday Morning!

this means you'll make phone calls to very important people, receive the
interviewees while they're waiting to go into studio and in general keep
the live shows ticking over. it's a really really really important job and
i need about five or six people who can do shifts for the week. you'll be
a resident dcu fm legend possibly a sex god (but i don't have any paperwork
to back that up) and dare i say it... ok here it comes... it'll look great
on your cv!

HYBRID AWARDS 2004
April 15th The Venue
The MEDIA PRODUCTION SOCIETY are proud to announce that the inaugural Hybrid
Awards ceremony will take place in the Venue on the Thursday night, April
15th, in week 10.
The Hybrid Awards offers DCU students a chance to gain recognition and acknowledgement
of the extra-curricular work they do in the media be it either inside or
outside DCU. Students get a chance to enter their projects into the Hybrid
Award, where the nominations will be judged by media professionals in each
of the nine categories.
The categories and entry requirements are as follows
Best Website - Submit the web address.
Best Video Production - Submit a VHS tape no longer than 1 hour of footage.
Best Radio Production - Submit a CD no longer than 1 hour of content.
Best Script ? Submit a script of any kind on word doc.
Best News Writer ? Submit a collection of 3 articles on word doc.
Best Features Writer - Submit a collection of 3 articles on word doc.
Best Sports Writer - Submit a collection of 3 articles on word doc.
Best Photographer ? Submit a collection of photographs, no more than 10.
Best Poster Campaign ? Submit the complete poster campaign.
Entries for all categories except best video and radio production should

to arrange collection of videos and CD?s.

Hey all. A couple of summers ago I did a TV weekend yoke which involved
doing lots of workshops with big productions companies, the BBC, C4 etc...
It also involved going to prestigious party's, industry talks and ceileidhs(?)
with mucho free drink involved. I met Dave Gorman, Jimmy Carr, Johnny Vegas,
Daniel Kitson, Tommy Tiernen and Johnny and Kate from Big Brother. I had
a f#ckin rippin' weekend and met a lot of sound people who are focused on
working in the media. The event caters for under 21's, and you can do it
only once, so I am no longer eligible:( However, most of you will be. I
recommend this as your only cost is a cheap flight to Edinburgh. They pay
for everything else :) AND you'd be visiting Edinburgh at the best time
of year, during the international, fringe, film, television, theatre and
book festivals in August. It's pretty competitive, but well worth filling
