Folks,
The School of Computing, DCU, will once again be sole Irish host site for the UK & Ireland Intercollegiate Programming Competition on *Saturday 20th October* from *11am-4pm*.
The UKIEPC is a practice competition for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) where teams of undergraduates have 5 hours to solve a set of ten programming problems. The same problemset is used at all sites and has both very easy and very difficult problems. The competition takes place online with separate score tables for Irish universities and the UK universities.
Please mention it to your students, as not only is it a fun get together, but also a good test of their programming skills and computational thinking.
Thankfully Redbrick have offered to the heavy lifting of the organising this year.
*Registration closes Wednesday 17th October.*
For more information about the competition please the main UKIEPC competition page: http://ukiepc.info/2018/
Regards,
Gary
