Firstly we apologise for the delay in replying in full to this issue. A number of very good suggestions have been made in relation to the pool and Div 1 in DCPL, and we met last night to discus them in full and try to make some arrangements to the betterment of the league. We want to keep DIV 1 in Dublin, and see the team's based here playing. In summary there were 2 main suggestions: 1. Moving League/Div 1 to another venue: This would be either to WW or another pool. Abbotstown is not letting any boats in the pool at the moment and WW would mean switching the day to either a Sat or Sunday. It was decided that this kind of decision would need to be made at an EGM/AGM. It is too late in the year for us to change the venue and day for 03/ 04 2. Play Div 1 with 3 players: This would suit some teams but not others as where do you draw the line between a team, which is allowed 4 players and those only allowed to play with 3? It was decided that we would propose that DIV 1 teams could enter and opt to play with a maximum of 3 players on the water. Under the following conditions: 1. Teams must start with 3 players on the water 2. Teams can have a maximum of 5 players on the squad 3. Entry fee of EUR135 is paid in full with their entry form, this is a reduction because these teams have a lower number of players. This does not prevent any team playing DIV 1 with 4 players and paying the full entry fee if they wish. There will be forced promotion/demotion. This format will be reviewed at the end of the season.
