Welcome back everyone, Its great to be back isn't it? Exams all over with and a whole new fresh start in the new millenium...Celtic's performances haven't changed though. Celtic's return from the mid-season break was a frustrating one as their title aspirations suffered a set back after managing only a draw with second from bottom Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Then came the visit of Hearts to Parkhead and the Celtic faithful were hoping that the bhoys would show that Kilmarnock was a once off, sadly it wasn't to be: Celtic were their own worst enemy at Parkhead as they put rivals Rangers firmly in control of the title race by falling victim to an astonishing Hearts fightback. Trailing 2-0 after half an hour, Hearts refused to accept their fate and produced a thrilling recovery culminating in a penalty winner from Colin Cameron just six minutes from time. But Celtic fans are patient, they have to be and they were certain of a moral-boosting victory at home to Inverness Caley in the Cup, surely? Celtic 1-3 Inverness CT: Shock from the north. You could almost hear the laughter from the far side of Glasgow last night as Celtic were turfed out of the Tennents Scottish Cup by a side who impressed as being anything but hicks from the Highlands. How long had Ibrox fans waited to gloat about their arch rivals suffering a fate similar to that which Berwick inflicted upon Rangers? All of 33 years, in fact. But there was no consoling the Celtic support as John Barnes' hapless side fell out of the tournament at the same third-round stage after a humiliating 90 minutes against Inverness Caley Thistle. No excuse put forward for Celtic's ineptitude could be countenanced. They lost because they deserved to do so, after Barry Wilson had given Caley Thistle an early lead. Need I say more the fact is Celtic were beaten by a better team who played together as a team and as a Celtic fanatic I am severely pissed off. What is wrong at Celtic Park? Why do the board insist on pissing us off week in week out? Isn't it about time that the men in control at Parkhead realised the mistakes made by the old board i.e. Fergus McCann. Wim Jansen came into the frame and won the league championship for the first time in 9 years under immense pressure with the little money he had to spend. To make matters worse Celtic turned crisis into calamity last night after Mark Viduka worsened their shock Scottish Cup exit by becoming embroiled in an incident which will almost certainly see the striker leave the club. It was the last thing beleaguered coach John Barnes needed on a night when Inverness Caley Thistle inflicted one of the most humiliating defeats in the club's history. Barnes was defiant after the 3-1 loss, refusing to resign despite the protest by hundreds of fans who called for his head outside the main entrance of Parkhead after the match. Resign? I'm not sure, it is his first time managing a club. But then why did Celtic employ him in the first place? Its confusing and very frustrating but we are Celtic fans and as we're the most devoted fans in the world we will as ususal stick by them through thick and thin... thats why we're here isn't it. So thats the depressing news over with now for the good news: We have a lot of events planned for this semester the main one being the weekend trip over to Glasgow for the game against Dundee on the 15th of April. This is definitely going ahead and we will be taking money for this trip very shortly.
