Hey guys, Just a quick e-mail so you all know whats going on this week. * --Tuesday Showing --Fright Night --Bond!* * Tuesday Showing* (28th Oct) Because we missed a showing due to the bank holiday Monday where going to show Sweeney Todd The Demon Barbar of Fleet Street <http://filmsoc.dcu.ie/this_week/>in GQ15 at 7PM as always free popcorn for all. *Fright Night* Yep fright night! This Thursday Film's Soc in association with GamesSoc are going to have a sleepover in the Mezz, Scary movies and gaming all night! We provide the venue, films, games and food. All you neeed to bring is a sleeping bag, pillow to hide behind and you. We're starting of the night at 8PM so come early if you want to grab a good spot for your sleeping bag. *Bond* Film Soc are going to go see the new Bond movie Auantum of Solace next Tuesday in style! To help everyone get in the mood, we're offering a free drink to anyone who comes in a suit, tuxedo or evening gown! The normal price for members is three euro, but we promised a few of you free tickets for the event too. So go to the forum<http://filmsoc.dcu.ie/forum/thread/9/>and tell us if you want to come. Hey guys(and gals), Just a quick reminder we are showing IRON MAN tonight in t101 should be great and as always we will fill your cravings for snacks and supplies, so dont forget 7.00 p.m T101 iron man. ALSO * MONDAY SHOWING* since there is a bank holiday monday next week, that means we cant have our regular monday night showing! BUT DO NOT PANIC!!!! instead of depriving you of our quality viewage we have decided to move the viewing to tuesday @ 7 in T101! but what will we watch???......hmmmm..... how bout YOU lot decide?!? crazy i know BUT its halloween so please get your personal choices up onto the website!! and we'll show the movie that most want to see! deal?? good! BUT THEN THERES MOAR..... *FRIGHT NIGHT* YES WE GIVE YOU MOAR?!?!?!!!! why go trick or treat when we can provide your sweet tooth just what it needs .... BLOOD GORE AND RANDOM SCREAMS.....oh and lots of sweeties to suck on if your still breaking in those vampire teeth! we are having a SLEEP OVER!!! yes thats right were throwing a horror fest! we will show LOADS of horror movies all night long, YOUR movies, OUR movies, HIS movies and HER movies so bring them along!! were going nuts!!! bring your sleeping bags and snuggle up with us and prepare for a scare!! were kicking off next thursday the 30th at 8 p.m in the mezz and you may never leave!! :D for those who dont know where the mezz is....its upstairs in the canteen down by the tills but we'll hang around and show you the way! We invited our friends gamessoc to provide a little entertainment on the side if the movies not to taste? MAKE YOUR OWN with their horrifying games display!!! (horrifying as in AHHHH ZOMBIE thats is) How much will this cost you, you ask??? NOTHING thats right NOTHING! so make sure you come along to our FRIGHT NIGHT @ 8.00 p.m till i duno whens your next lecture???....in the mezz we'll be expecting you MUHUHUHahahahahaaahahaaaaaaa....... * CLUBS AND SOCS TICKETS* If you missed out dont worry we got some to spare! first come first serve! Hey guys, * Showings. * Cinema. * Clubs & Socs ball tickets. Hey guys just an e-mail to let you all know whats happening this week in the world of Film Soc. On Monday in the seminar room in the Hub at 7PM, Film Soc presents in conjunction with Book Soc Clockwork Orange. As always there will be free popcorn and drinks :) We also hope to have enough couches for everyone >.> On Thursday in T101 at 7PM we are showing the newly released action film Iron man! Again free popcorn and drinks. Plot summaries and trailers for both films can be found at filmsoc.dcu.ie We are selling our Clubs & Socs Ball tickets on Monday before the showing in the seminar room. Tickets cost €55 and must be paid for then and there. Tickets are for members only. Please come at 6:30PM if you wish to get a ticket as the film will start at 7pm. Well I sent out an email to the membership saying to meet in the hub at 6:30 and leaving at 6:45 (forgot to add you to the list podge sorry doing it now) There are now 20 people going which is pretty cool could someone at all have a camera? I want photos for campus. o/ Last night was a huge success thank you to all that came, we hope you enjoyed the film and most importantly the popcorn. I would like to apologise to those that where stuck sitting on hard seats. We will have enough couches for all next week promise :) *Cinema Trip* Film Soc is going to the cinema this week! Tickets cost €3. The decision on what to see was decided on our website via poll. - Mutant Chronicles *(7%)* - Tropic Thunde*r (62%)* - City of Ember* (18%)* - Death Race* (12)* The plan so far is to meet in the hub for 6:30pm on Thursday. Leaving the hub for 6:45pm. I have delayed the booking of the tickets for those that where not able to log into the site. o/ Welcome to DCU Film Society, My name is Kat Farrell and I shall be your chair for this year. We have lots of plans for this year with at least two events a week so be sure to get as involved as you can. Clubs & Socs day was a huge success (bar the popcorn incident )! So far 312 members have registered with us so you won't be alone. By now you should have all been sent your login details to the Film Soc site<http://filmsoc.dcu.ie>. These logins have been sent to each members mail.dcu.ie accounts. If you have not received your details send me an email with your student number and our awesome web monkey Andrew will set you up with an account. This Monday Film Soc presents In Bruge. Showing takes place at 7:00pm in the Seminar room in the hub. Bring your friends and housemates along for free popcorn and drinks. This showing is free to our members, non members can join on the night for €4. Film Soc is going to the Omniplex cinema Thursday 16th in the evening. You decide on what we go to see so vote <http://filmsoc.dcu.ie/home/>! Poll will be closed on Tuesday. If you are interested in coming Leave a post on our forum <http://filmsoc.dcu.ie/forum/thread/5/>. Tickets will cost our members €3.
