[Announce-film] Filmsoc Week 11, showings and Berlin trip \o/
* filmsoc.dcu.ie* Hey wonderful people, *Showings *Berlin Showings: On Tuesday 9th: filmsoc presents the newly released film The dark Knight. Set within a year after the events of Batman Begins, Batman, Lieutenant James Gordon, and new district attorney Harvey Dent successfully begin to round up the criminals that plague Gotham City until a mysterious and sadistic criminal mastermind known only as the Joker appears in Gotham, creating a new wave of chaos. Batman's struggle against the Joker becomes deeply personal, forcing him to "confront everything he believes" and improve his technology to stop him. A love triangle develops between Bruce Wayne, Dent and Rachel Dawes. On Thursday 11th: we are helping you get into the mood of Christmas by showing the Tim Burton story The Nightmare before Christmas. Bored and unhappy with the life of being "The Pumpkin King" Jack Skellington of Halloween Town, Jack sets out to find something exciting. Jack discovers "Christmas Town" and takes it upon himself to take over the duties of Santa to deliver toys across the world to children Berlin: As a lot of you know filmsoc are heading to Berlin film festival this year. We are going in semester 2 end of week2, that's February 13th. We will be leaving Dublin on Friday coming back on Monday. We are staying in a hostel close to where the film festival takes place. Cost for this trip is €55, that includes flights and accommodation. Entry fees for the festival have not been released yet and may cause this amount to rise a little. We have 20 places for this trip, so If you are interested in coming to Berlin with us come to the seminar room at 6:30pm on Monday. We will be taking deposits of 25euro.
