[Fotosoc] Call For Papers and Reviewers: Cognition and Knowledge
Dear Dawid Nowak, As you know, Alvin Goldman affirmed that "epistemology [which] is concerned with the prospects of human knowledge must work hand in hand with cognitive science." (Goldman, 1999, "Epistemology and cognition," in Wilson & Keil (Eds.), The MIT Encyclopedia of Cognitive Sciences, The MIT Press, p. 280). This is one of the main purposes for organizing the Symposium on Cognition/Knowledge Science and Engineering: CKSE 2013. We would like to invite you to participate in the International Symposium on Cognition/Knowledge Science and Engineering: CKSE 2013 (www.2013iiisconferences.org/ckse), being organized in the context of The 7th International Conference on Knowledge Generation, Communication and Management: KGCM 2013 (www.2013iiisconferences.org/kgcm), to be held in Orlando, Florida, USA, on July 9 - 12, 2013. The deadline of papers/abstracts submissions and invited session proposals for both events is *April 9th, 2013*. The deadlines for notification to authors and camera ready upload can be found at the events web site. ----------------------------- Deadlines for the collocated (same venue and time) conferences and symposia can be found at http://www.2013iiisconferences.org/current-deadlines.asp. (Check the web site for possible extension of the submission deadline). ----------------------------- To provide support as reviewer, you can do it by filling the form at www.2013iiisconferences.org/ckser. The required fields will take no more than 2 minutes from your time. ----------------------------- Submissions for Face-to-Face or for Virtual Participation are both accepted. Both kinds of submissions 1) will have the same reviewing process, 2) the accepted papers will be included in the same proceedings, and 3) authors of the best 20%-25% papers will be invited to adapt their papers for their publication in the Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics, and Informatics with no additional costs, i.e. the respective Article Processing Charge will be waived for them. ----------------------------- With the purpose of fostering *Inter-disciplinary Communications* participants registered at any conference or symposia can attend any sessions of the collocated events. Registered participants will also receive a CD containing the proceedings of all collocated events, and will have a password to access any virtual session of these events, so they can comment the papers presented at any of them. ----------------------------- Main Themes or Tracks of CKSE 2013 (Suggested topics in each Track are suggested at the symposium web site): Cognitive Science Cognitive Engineering and Technologies Knowledge Engineering Knowledge Science Knowledge and Cognition Philosophies ----------------------------- Other purposes for organizing CKSE 2013 are: to explore the possibility of organizing CKSE 2014 as a conference by its own, not in the context of another one; to identify the interest that there might be regarding special issues in the Journal of Systemic, Cybernetics, and Informatics (JSCI) on CKSE, where best papers will certainly be published in regular or special issues; to examine with CKSE 2013 participants the feasibility of publishing a multiple author book on the CKSE topics or on a cluster of them; and to analyze with CKSE 2013 participants the desirability and feasibility of organizing an international association on CKSE and/or of publishing a related Journal. ----------------------------- Details about the following issues have also been included at the conference web site (URL given above): Pre- and post-conference virtual sessions Virtual participation Two-tier reviewing combining double-blind and non-blind methods Access to reviewers comments and evaluation average according to eight criteria Waiving the registration fee of effective invited session organizers.
