Hi all! There's plenty happening this week with RedBrick, we've got Socs Ball tickets, a creepy Halloween event and even a workshop for those of you with a thirst for knowledge, so read on... ========================== Societies Ball Tickets ========================== As most current DCU students will know, the societies ball tickets go on sale this Wednesday. However Redbrick, as it's so great, has secured 50 tickets to sell to its members BEFORE they go on sale to the general student body! In order to reserve a ticket (max 2 per account), simply run 'socsball' at the command prompt and follow the instructions This command will be runnable from 2pm on Monday 24th (i.e. TODAY) The cut off for payment on reserved tickets is the 4th of November (Friday of next week), if you do not pay a committee member before this time your tickets WILL be resold! ================== Halloween Ball ================== Halloween is here! Come celebrate the ghoulish season with Redbrick in The Mezz from 8:30pm til the wee hours (i.e. 2:30am) on Tues October 25th (TOMORROW), with bands such as the fantastic Check Point Charlie, possible prizes for the best (or worst?) dressed and a spoooky atmosphere. Entry is EUR4, cheap at twice the price. Come in costume, come dressed as normal, but just make sure you come along! ============================================= Weekly Workshop - this week's topic: HMTL ============================================= For those of you out there who want to broaden your mind or brush up on your skills, this is just the thing. We'll be running right through the basics, so you don't need to know anything to follow along! This takes place on Wednesday 26th October in LG25 (Ground Floor of the Computer Applications building) at 2pm That's all for now folks, and apologies for all the mails in the last while! Hey all, Dont forget the Redbrick Freshers Ball is tomorrow! Be there with your glad rags on. We have three bands organised for the night including The Tequila Mockingbirds and Kid Icarus. We will have everything from announcing the winner of the raffle to lots of red helium balloons! Madness guaranteed! Its kicking off at eight and we have a late bar. Its all being held down stairs, dont forget to bring your ticket! Hi Everyone, First of all, I'd like to apologise for all the announce mails of late! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first Redbrick Workshop of the year takes place today, the 19th October at 2PM. This workshop will take place in the CA building, room LG25. This workshop will be a good change to learn more about Redbrick, and how to use the services we provide, the first workshop will cover: - Logging in for the 1st time - Redbrick Basics - Using Redbrick chat There will be free refreshments provided afterwards and it'll give you a chance to meet some new people too! Everyone is welcome, and if you know someone that hasn't signed up to Redbrick yet but would like to, ask them to come along and they can sign up on the spot! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Redbrick Holloween Ball is going to be held downstairs in The Mezz in Temple Bar [otherwise known as The Hub, not to be confused with The Hub in DCU], its fancy dress optional, and Check Point Charlie are going to give us another killer set and one, as yet, unconfirmed band will be playing too. Late bar til 2.30pm, should be a good one. EGM - This Tues in QG15 @ 7pm

Heyo everyone! Just a mail to let you know the Redbrick EGM is on in QG15 (Business School), at 7pm *THIS* Tuesday, 18th Oct. Come along to vote (or run) for Ents and the final Helpdesk member. If you want to go for helpdesk, the exam takes place TOMORROW [Monday] at 7pm. Meet in the lobby of the CA building. Remember, you *must* take this test to be eligible to run at the EGM. Drinks in the New Bar after the EGM! Holloween Ball is the following Tuesday. It's fancy dress optional as always. Pirates [yarr], Robots, binary code are all likely to be seen there. There will be another mail about the event soon, and keep an eye out for posters around campus! C&S Days and Redbrick Freshers

Hey everyone, Just a quick mail to remind people about Redbrick events :) In order: Clubs and Socs Days are on Wednesday and Thursday [5th and 6th] this week, don't forget to renew your account! And if anyone is free to lend a hand mail pro@rb or chair@rb and lettuce know :) Then on Friday the 7th of October there is going to be a Lobby meet up in The Porter House on Parliament Street from 7, its been arranged by Phier and there is a crowd already guaranteed to be there. All are welcome and it should be a good chance to catch up before we get invaded by first years! Thereafter, on the 11th, the Tuesday in week three in Eamonn Dorans of Temple Bar is Redbrick Fresher's Ball! Two of our own playing at it. Kid Icarus [Spocks] and The Tequila Mockingbirds [Elpres'], and there will be a raffle and lots of other madness. Definitely not one to miss. *Map available. Then we have an EGM on Tuesday of week 4, the 18th. Positions available are one Ents officer, and one Helpdesk! There is an exam for helpdesk on Monday the 17th, for more details keep an eye out for posters! Or alternatively, get in contact with chair@rb or helpdesk@rb!
