Hey everyone, here's what's going on for the last week of the semester! ==Programming Tutorials/Programming Competition Training== ==An Intro to Ruby== ==Admin Training== ==Programming Tutorials/Programming Competition Training== Date: Monday 10th of December Time: 5pm-6pm Venue: LG26 This week's programming tutorial session is being held at the regular time in LG26. In addition to helping with programming tutorials we will be using these sessions to practice for upcoming programming competitions. Don't worry if you have no experience in programming competitions, we'll be starting from the basics and working our way up. ==An Intro to Ruby== Date: Tuesday 11th of December Time: 5pm Venue: TBC Website:http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/about One of our own members Tsov will be giving us an introductory talk to programming in Ruby this Tuesday. Ruby is a dynamic, general purpose, object oriented programming language similar in ways to Perl and Python. Some of its features include automatic memory management, built in support for rational/complex numbers and literal notation for arrays, hashes and symbols. If you're interested in learning how to program in Ruby or just want to try something new come along to our last talk of the semester! ==Admin Training== Date: Tuesday 11th of December Time: 6pm Venue:LG26 This week in admin training our chairperson (and former admin) fun will be taking us through an introduction to processes. He'll be covering different types of processes, viewing process information, starting and killing processes and more. This will be a good session for those who want to learn more about manipulating the processes that run on your machine on a day to day basis. Also, from all of the Redbrick committee, we hope you have a great Christmas and to those studying for them, we wish you the best of luck in your exams in January.
