Hi, Just a couple of quick announcements and reminders of past announcements! ==Admin Training Today! Scripting, 6pm , LG26== Today's admin training is on shell scripting. It's an introductory talk, so don't worry about your skill level. We'll be walking you through it all and giving help to anyone who needs it! You can learn how to write scripts to do a variety of tasks on linux. Some of them are actually useful to use, others are just neat tricks! ==Admin Training Next Week== Cian Synnott from google, AKA pooka@redbrick, will be presenting next weeks admin training on Thursday 11th November. He will be talking about processes. The way different operating systems deal with them, process lifecycle, kernel and user space and much more! This is a really interesting talk and one not to be missed! ==Downtime== Due to the ongoing maintenance in the hub, Redbrick will be offline again from 4.30pm Friday for the rest of the weekend. Due to this, we would like to remind anyone who has files that they need on Redbrick to copy them to their local machines as there'll be no access to them. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. ==C&S Ball tickets== The ball is taking place on Nov 17 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Tickets cost €40 each and include a 3 course meal. Anyone interested in attending mail committee@redbrick.dcu.ie - tickets are limited so we're handing them out on a first come, first served basis! ==Bowling & Quazar== Redbrick is going bowling and to quazar! Monday the 8th November. It costs €10 and we're meeting in the hub at 6pm. Email committee@redbrick.dcu.ie if you're interested in coming along! ==Renewals== We'll be deactivating accounts on Monday, so anybody who hasn't renewed should do so soon or risk losing access to their account.
