Just a quick reminder to remember to attend the EGM to elect a new Helpdesk member! The EGM will take place at 6pm, on the 14th of February, then join us in the Old Bar of the Hub for afters celebrations. Role of the Education Officer (from the constitution): The Education Officer's (helpdesk) role is to answer the system-related questions of the society's membership, and to detail, organise, and implement beneficial tutorials for the members. In short this means that you organise tutorials, help out members who are having difficulties using Redbrick and its services, and generally be the society "tech-support". It's a great job to learn more in, and is excellent experience to have on your resume. Plus, you get to work with the "wonderful" people on the committee, preparing for one of our most exciting events, the 10th Birthday! In order to be eligible for the Helpdesk position, all candidates must sit (but not necessarily pass) an exam written by the current helpdesk team. The exam will be held on Monday 13th of Feb (tomorrow) at 5pm, meet up in the lobby of the computer applications building at 5 to 5. Past exam papers are available here: http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/help/pastexams/ In summary: Helpdesk exam, Monday 13th, meet in the CA lobby at 4:55pm EGM, at 6pm on Tuesday 14th Feb, location QG14, then afters in the Hub (on campus) to celebrate! Come along and support your friends! -- Michelle Graham, Chairperson, Redbrick
