Week 7 Newsletter

Hello again everyone!
It's me again branch your Secretary, I know something looks a bit different this week. But that's because Redbrick has finally updated its emails with a new look. I know it may take some time to get used to especially for some of the veteran brickies out there, but we hope you'll grow to love it as much as we do. I just want to give a big thanks out this week, cause this new update is all thanks to our amazingly talented Graphics Design Officer Depp!
We are still getting used to it ourselves so don't worry if it changes a bit over time.

I hope you all enjoyed last week and our great talk from our Helpdesk on installing and setting up Linux on your laptop and of course our weekly Hackerclub event. This week is still set to be jam packed with stuff for all you brickies to come along and enjoy, especially seen as we have another great talk coming form our Helpdesk this week. This week, Redbrick is taking Reading Week to help you catch up with all those techy buzz words floating all over the place! What exactly is Blockchain? What do you mean it's on the Cloud? Apache? You mean like the pizza place? And what's the difference between my terminal and my shell? Never fear! Redbrick will help you crack all that fancy lingo and more! You'll take your friends on head to head in a series of games on the day to find out if you are the Master of Jargon, so make sure you come along to LG26 at 3pm this Wednesday!

Stripe Open Evening

Hey guys, our friends at Stripe are opening its doors to penultimate, final year, masters, and PhD students for an evening of talks and networking. Join them at their Dublin office to learn about Stripe's Global Engineering Team, their internship and graduate opportunities, and for a chance to meet the team. Small bites and drinks will be served. Please note that space is limited and all guests will need to have received an invite prior to the event in order to attend.
