Hi all! [ ---- Rag Week ---- ] This week as you all no doubt know is Rag Week in DCU. (which some of you may not know means "Raise A Grand" for charity). Last year redbrick were part of a hugely successful road collection which helped raise over £1,500 for the Irish Cancer Society. This year we'll be doing it again in association with PhysEng and aid of the Rape Crisis Centre. This road collection will take place TOMORROW (Tuesday) Morning during morning traffic, and we're in desperate need of people to help out and repeat the success of last year. If you're interested in helping (Gwan! It's for charity you losers!) meet at 7am tomorrow morning in the Street in the Henry Grattan. It proved to be fun last year as well as helping a very worthy cause, so PLEASE come out and help us support this. [ ---- Trip to Galway !! ---- ] RedBrick are going to Galway! Next weekend, 9th/10th/11th of March (2 weeks from now) we have a bus reserved for 50 PLACES ONLY to travel down for the funnest god damn weekend you ever had! Well, maybe not, but the trip to Cork last year was excellent, and there are plenty of activities down there including Go Karting, Bowling etc. We'll be leaving here at 2pm on the Friday, staying in Wood Quay Hostel (not that we'll be there much - there's a lot to do) and returning to DCU from 6pm on the Sunday. There are only 50 places though, so reserve your place NOW by replying to me or letting a committee member know. The cost will be 20 quid, but this is all inclusive, and naturally a pretty measly sum to pay for all the above... [ ---- RedBrick Talks ---- ] We're in the process of organising some talks from March onwards; these talks will be quite broad, generally relating to the computing industry. Currently, we have the following confirmed to come in and speak: - Dave Wilson/Mike Norris from HEAnet (they run DCU's net connection!) - Tom Murphy from Spin Solutions (leading Irish internet/web company) and others in the pipeline, so watch this space for more details... Plus, the DCU exam results are up now - hope they weren't too painful for everyone. And remember, if they were painful, don't worry. RedBrick still loves ya. As do your loving committee.
