SISTEM

What is SISTEM? Well SISTEM is a meetup style conference run by students, for students. SISTEM helps provide a link between students and those in the world of tech and enterprise in a casual meetup environment. Building on the foundations of the inaugural event in 2018, SISTEM 2019 promises to cater for multiple skills levels on the day, with speakers from an array of different companies, as well as workshops, a live tech panel, and lightning talks! On top of all this, one of our lucky attendees will walk away with a brand new Xbox One courtesy of Microsoft! In short, Redbrick DCU, DUCSS, UCD Netsoc, DIT Compsoc, DU Netsoc, MUCSS and UCD Netsoc have come together to organise the student tech event of the year! Tickets are 10 each, including breakfast and lunch, and all proceeds will go to charity. Tickets can be purchased at https://dcusu.ticketsolve.com/shows/873599383 When & Where? SISTEM will take place on Saturday the 2nd of March 2019 in DCU. The conference will start at 10:00AM and conclude around 5:00PM that day. To view the schedule for the day, head on over to https://sistem.redbrick.dcu.ie . If you would like to give a Lightning Talk on the day of SISTEM you may make your proposal at https://redbrickdcu.typeform.com/to/BHsqO1

BASH: Seizing the Memes of Production

Bash is a scripting language widely used for automating day-to-day tasks, like backups, software updates, and email alerts. However, we think we can do better. Come on down to LG26 at 3pm sharp on Wednesday the 27th for a workshop where we build our own meme generator script! We'll cover conditions, I/O redirection, and all the other things that go into serving up that spicy meme.

Hashcode

Googles team-based programming competition, Hash Code, allows you to share your skills and connect with other coders as you work together to solve a problem modeled off a real Google engineering challenge! In small teams of two to four, coders all over the world will tackle the first problem through an Online Qualification Round. Though this round is hosted online, teams can come together to compete side-by-side in locally coordinated Hash Code hubs. One of which will be hosted in DCU on the 28th of February in LG25. The top teams from this round are invited to an international Google office for our annual Hashcode Final Round! If you want anymore info on Hash Code please look at this link: https://codingcompetitions.withgoogle.com/hashcode
