Spooky Git Talk

With Halloween on the horizon we took a moment to reflect on what the scariest subject is for most brickies and we came to the conclusion that is the daunting task of fully understanding version control. Through a series of fun, interactive tasks you are going to be taught all the basics you will need to work in groups on projects which will help you in your third year project and on Intra! With free pizza and a hour of relevant information on how you will use version control in college and on placement, there is no reason not to come!

Google STEP Algorithms Workshop

While this isn't a Redbrick run event, we figured it was an amazing event and a great chance to get some useful experience! Google is running an Algorithms workshop for 1st and 2nd year students, where you'll be working with Google Site Reliability Engineers to learn how to approach solving complex problems. This is an excellent opportunity to practice techniques commonly used in the field. You'll also have the chance to learn interviewing tips through their demo interview session! If you're interested you'd better get moving quickly, as sign-ups close on the 29th!
