Hi folks, So IT is here, IT has arrived, welcome to our annual Techweek. This is a week most likely to be exciting for any and every brickie, so here's the summary of some of the highlights as well as some other dates to bookmark. For the full list of events, see http://techweek.dcu.ie/ * Launch party (with Strange Things table quiz), Monday, NuBar 7pm. * Talks and Karaoke trip (with Gamessoc at 6pm), Tuesday. * Arduino, gaming, talks and movie, Wednesday. * Talks/presentations and tech anime (with AMS), Thursday. * Ragweek, week 4. * RedBrick's 15th Birthday Party, 24th March. == Launch Party & Strange Things Quiz == Techweek kicks off in NuBar from 7pm on Monday with the Strange Things quiz. Things to look forward to include our original Techweek cocktail courtesy of the ever creative John, the bar manager. Come around and dress nerdy, on this night of all it may well pay off. == Talks and Karaoke, Tuesday == Tuesday, during the day will be predominantly a talk day, with contributions from Model UN on Cyber Terrorism, DCUSU on Cyber Bullying and our very own Richard Dalton on Web Security. In the evening we shall be heading to Bonga for Karaoke with Gamessoc, to conclude the days work with more fun. == Arduinos, Gaming, Talks & Strange Things Movie == Wednesday will be seeing Jeffrey Roe giving a workshop on Arduino technology (if you would like to attend, please email the committee to account for the amount of materials needed.), Gamessoc's Retro Gaming, JournoSoc organised Mark Little Talk and finally Strange Thing's showing of Lawnmower Man. == Talks/Presentations & Anime == On Thursday we will be having a talk on 3D Modelling by Dave Larkan, as well as 'Lightning talks' from Engineering Soc. In the evening, Anime & Manga society will show some technology themed anime to celebrate the week of tech. == Ragweek, week 4 == Ragweek is coming, look busy. Things will be done, fun will be had and money shall be raised, stay tuned for more information. == RedBrick's 15th Birthday Party, 24th March == Hold onto your bricks folks, we have a date for the biggest RedBrick session of the year! The Birthday Party will be on the 24th of March, which is also the Ada Lovelace day (if anyone doesn't know who that is, Ada Lovelace is considered to be the very first programmer), and will be held in the Slipper. Time is yet to be confirmed, but bookmark this day, wherever you are, and at the very least keep a computer and an internet connection handy on the night :) That's that for week 3 and I shall hopefully see you at an event or two.
