Hi Guys!! Carri here with the Weekly Announce, first of Semester 2!! (I'm the new PRO in case some of you didn't know.:D) Sorry, this might be a bit long! =RAG WEEK== Being the epic bakers we are, there's gonna be a fantastic bake sale on Tuesday! We'll be selling goodies on Tuesday, and at the Strange Things showing that evening. (providing there is some left over!) For the associates/random members who wish to donate, we have a fantabolous website. You can donate to the RAG week 09 funds and help Redbrick raise money! - http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/donate/ Also in RAG Week, we'll be holding a Dare Day! Everyone will have to get into teams, each team is given a list of tasks/dares. Everytime they complete a task, they can take a photo on a camera or on their phone to prove that they have done that particular task. The first team that can prove they did all the tasks win. You can enter in singles too but it will make it harder. ==Tech Week== Organisation for this is well under way, and personally I can't wait! ;) Tech week is from the 9th to the 12th of March 09 and Wavehunt will take place on Saturday 14th March. For those who don't know what Wavehunt is: http://wavehunt.redbrick.dcu.ie/ < That explains alot. :D ==Admin Training== Due to popluar demand RedBrick will be hosting workshops on systems adminstration this semester. If you're interested in attending these sessions please join the mailing list at: http://lists.redbrick.dcu.ie/mailman/listinfo/trainee-admins Members of the list will be able to discuss topics of interest, and decide the topics of upcoming workshops. Anyone interested in system administration topics may also want to join the RedBrick administration discussion list: http://lists.redbrick.dcu.ie/mailman/listinfo/admin-discuss ==Bots, Scripts and Triggers in #Lobby== Due to the recent spamming of Bots and Triggers in #lobby the committee have decided to begin enforcing the regulation that requires the committee's approval for bots in #lobby, https://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/about/regulations/ Anyone wishing to continue to have a bot in #lobby needs to email the committee at committee@redbrick.dcu.ie seeking approval for it, the email should include information on the bots purpose and trigger delays being used. A list of approved bots/scripts and their owners will be maintained on the website by the committee. I think that covers everything.. :) Yay, my first Redbrick Announce. You should all be proud. Peace out, Carri (^.^) (I hope I did this right!:P) -- PRO - Redbrick, DCU Networking Society 08-09 PRO - Strange Things, DCU Sci-fi and Fantasy Society 08-09 PRO - Comic Soc 08-09 CA1 Class Rep 08-09
