Network Changes || IrlCpc || Redbrick AGM 2013
Hi all, == Recent Network Changes == == IrlCPC == == Redbrick AGM 2013 == == Recent Network Changes == #Change 1 - Proxy ISS have removed the mandatory usage of their proxy for web access for our subnet. In this light we have removed the http_proxy and https_proxy environmental variables from our default shell environments. This means that user run applications or scripts that require web access are no longer required to use the dcu proxy, although they can continue to do so if they wish. It also mean that scripts that relied solely on the http(s)_proxy environmental variables will fail. #Change 2 - Port 80 and 443 inbound access to user VMs ISS have allowed port 80 and 443 inbound to our user VM subnet. This means users can setup webservers on their VMs which can now be accessed from outside of DCU. A real life webserver yo. == IrlCPC == Date: End of March 2013 (details to be announced soon) Venue: UCC Website:http://acm.ucc.ie/irlcpc This year sees Redbrick members looking to represent the society and University at the annual Irish Collegiate Programming Contest.
