Hi all, As we're all getting back to our courses, there's a few announcements to take care of. Events We are sorry to announce that Emma has resigned her position as the Events Officer. We'd all like to thank her for all the hard work she's invested in Redbrick over the years, and wish her all the best in future. EGM Our EGM is to be held on Wednesday, 13th October at 2pm. The venue is yet to be confirmed. The open positions are treasurer, events, 3rd admin (will have to pass the admin test) and 1st year rep. If you are available, please come out and vote or run :) Admin Test The date for the admin test is as yet to be confirmed. For anyone wishing to prepare for this test, past exam papers can be found at http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/help/exams/ There is also the trainee admin channel on IRC at #rbTraineeAdmins. Could anyone interested in taking the admin test please e-mail the admins (admins@redbrick.dcu.ie)? Dublin Hacks and Hackers Hack Day Lastly, some of you may have heard of the Dublin Hacks and Hackers Hack Day, to be held on 16th of November. In their own words "Armed with their laptops and WIFI, journalists and developers will be put into teams of around four to develop their ideas, with the aim of finishing final projects that can be published and shared publicly. Each team will then present their project to the whole group. Overall winners will receive a prize at the end of the day." Redbrick has got a limited number of tickets for this event, so if you'd like to come along as part of the Redbrick team, email the committee (committee@redbrick.dcu.ie) with your full name and class/company. More information about the Hack day can be found on http://blog.scraperwiki.com/2010/09/13/new-event-dublin-hacks-and-hackers-ha... Hope everyone's enjoying the freshers week, and getting back into swing of things. Nina 'geekity' Hanzlikova Redbrick Secretary 2010-2011
