Hey guys and girls, Just an e-mail from your friendly neighborhood chair to let you all know whats going on this week in the world of Redbrick. Advanced Linux:- We have an advanced linux workshop, which will take place on Tuesday 4th at 6PM. If you have any questions that you want answered, or topics that you want covered at it, please email helpdesk@redbrick.dcu.ie. Helpdesk Exam: As most of you know we need to fill two helpdesk positions on the committee. In order to be eligible to run for this position a member must sit and pass an exam written by the current helpdesk. You can find past helpdesk exams at http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/help/exams/. We are holding the helpdesk exam on Wednesday 5th in C123 at 1PM Toys for Big Boys: On Friday (7th) we are heading to Toys for Big Boys, so whatever you're into I'm sure the RDS can cater for your appetite. Tickets will cost our members €8 and we will be leaving The Hub at 1PM on Friday. Night Out: Redbrick night out \o/ We're having a night out on Friday the 14th, from 8pm onward. We have reserved an area of the Woolshed (beside the UGC cinema in Parnell St.). There are cheap pitchers, cocktails and lots of fun to be had. Down Time: This Friday (7th) CSD have decided to play with their routers which means Redbrick will be unavailable :( Our admins are taking advantage of this downtime to apply updates to our machines. This means they will be rebooting minerva and the rest of the servers. Due to this you will need to create a new screen session when you log back in (if you use screen). This downtime will take place from 6PM until CSD finish fiddling with cables. If you have any questions e-mail chair@redbrick.dcu.ie. Also we are always looking for good suggestions for events.
