Hi, I'm pixies, you may remember me from such campaigns as "Why Didn't Somebody Tell Me I'm A Vampire" and "Please Stop Fireballing My Important NPCs". I'm thinking of starting up a Mage campaign, which will use the Mage system and some of the background, but will have a lot of setting changes - so players not familiar with Mage won't be at much of a dis-advantage. Basically: - The Traditions will, in general, serve more as tamplates for how characters perform magic (their paradigm), and not exist as groups. - There may be techno-mages, but no Technocracy. - Vulgar magic and paradox will, in general, hurt, so the campaign will not be a case of fireballing things until they die. The meta-physics may be slightly different; not all characters will know why or how magic works, so I won't say more here. - Mages (including the PCs), will be people who Have Weird Shit Happen To Them, more so than Walking Fireball Factories. - In terms of tone, think Hellblazer, mixed up with a bit of Angel and Call of Cthulhu. I'll be trying to curb my liking for overly cinematic encounters, although not removing it entirely (just the bits with fireballs). - It will probably run around fortnightly, at the weekend. Please don't ask to play if you can't get to my house every second Sunday/Saturday around noon. - Last but not least, no fireball oriented characters. In case anybody is wondering, it'll be distinct from other campaigns I've run, so reuse of characters won't be possible, especially since the magic is going to be so much more low key and paradigms so very restrictive. I have an idea where it will go, but no real plan to end it at any time. So, if you're interested, mail me at pixies.redbrick.dcu.ie or talk to me. As I said, new players are welcome, and indeed encouraged. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- | S.T.O.C.S. aka, NIHED Gaming Society. | | | Dublin City University's Wonderful Games Society. | | Visit our homepage at: http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~stocs/ | --------------------------------------------------------------
